Just want some advice.
Planning a trip to England in April; had been hunting for cheap flights online. Found some for $1600 return, so approached a travel agent to see if they could better the deal.
The agent offered $1500, so I took them up on the deal.
I arranged to pay for the tickets a couple of days later.
Went in to the agents and paid the $1500, signed the dotted line, etc, etc, was given my itinerary. All seemed good.
HOWEVER...
The next morning the agent rang and said the airline had canceled my tickets because 'the offer had expired'. They said they had found me another flight, which would total roughly $1800 +.
I rang the airline direct and asked about the canceled tickets. They said that the seats were still available and that they had me on the system and that it was the agent who had canceled my tickets.
So, my question is, as it stands, because of professional error I stand to have to fork out a stack of extra cash.
Should I fight this one or no leg to stand on?
