I thought a widow was allowed to marry after the death of the loved one.

After death of husband, widow is welcome to mary (even if there are encumberences, they could be sorted out). As a human individual she has the right and necessity to marry again to enjoy her full life in all respects
- love, sex and companionship, economic and emotional support to mention a few examples of ' life in all respects'.
Above all, in the begning, a widow needs the advice and guidance of a trusted well wisher in handling the new changed situation properly.

As stated in the book of proverbs and matthews that is when it is safe to marry someone who has already been married. Otherwise would have made you both adulterers. So yes it is okay for a widow to remarry.

Widows can remarry in AMERICA!! My brother's wife did!! So did a sister-in-law on my hubby's side!! Women have rights 2 u know!! Where r u from?
