I've seen Christians saying that disease is caused by sin. I thought it was caused by microorganisms and malfunctions of the body. Science seems to treat it as such, often successfully.

If disease is caused by sin, why do chemical treatments seem to function so well?

Then again, if disease is caused by sin, what is the mechanism? Did God create the causative elements, or does Satan have the power to create? If God created these things, then how does man have the power to cure?

If sin is the cause of disease, does that mean that we are living in hell, or is simply God punishing us twice?

If disease is caused by sin, why does God afflict his believers?

It's all so confusing for an INAC on the outside looking in. What sort of logic might you bring to bear on this subject for us unrighteous fools?

I've recently gotten back in touch with a guy I met years ago (we only hooked up - NO sex - briefly for one night) never to hear from him again. 4 years later, he's back in my life and for the past 2 months we've been dating off an on.

He disappeared on me 4 years ago, and he's flaked out on me a couple of times this go around (standing me up and whatnot, but making it up to me with dinner and brief spurts of attention), and he says he's trying to make a conscious effort to be more responsible and communicate. He was in a bad place 4 years ago when he met me, and he said he has grown up a lot since then. He says he really likes me, he's attracted to me, he showers me with compliments and we've spent the night together cuddling (NO sex, lots of heavy petting and making out), and things are just naturally comfortable. HE said he wants to wait for sex!!!! (we are nearly 30)

The thing is, i don't want to change him or make him into someone I want him to be. But, I don't want to be left in the dust again like 4 years ago. I feel the need to hear from him constantly, in fear that he's fallen off the face of the earth again. How active can i get in his life this soon, without him feeling like i'm trying to control him? How can i communicate without feeling like i'm smothering him or trying to change him?

The quesiton is...should I trust him to continue to grow up on his own when he's already made big communication mistakes this time around? How long should I give him to get his act together before I step in and tell him to step up or ship out?

I know i deserve a lot better than being stood up and not getting my calls or messages returned (which he's a pro at), but there is just some crazy chemistry we have together.

Okay, I have 3 daughters. Ages 15, 11 and 6. Our first 2 children have baby books we made when they were babies, but our youngest, we kind of got lazy and didn't make one. Just the stress of raising 3 kids and making sure everyone was safe and sound was on our mind and I didn't think about a baby book. She's seen the other 2 childrens books and asked to see hers. I kind of changed the subject. Now I feel horrible. Should I buy one and kind of "remember" things and add it to a book for her or should I be honest and just tell her we didn't make one for her? I don't want her to feel left out or unloved, which is sooo far from the truth. I love that little girl more than anything. I wish I could go back in time, but I can't. What do you suggest?

There was a show I remember watching as a kid about this family that moves into a house that is haunted by the ghost of the woman that last lived in the house. I could have sworen that the "ghost" was played by Ann Jillian and it was titled 'It's Me'. I can't find anything remotely similar to that on the web. Any help would be great!!!!!!

I’m wondering if there is anyway to take drivers ed online, at least the written part. I recently moved to a state where you have to take it in order to get your licence. But the thing is, I’m living quite far out of town, and it’s often snowy and hard to go places. I’m kind of embarrassed because I could have had my license for quite sometime. So- is there anyway for me to take part of it online and just meet my driving instructor instead of having to go somewhere for classes?

Ok, here's the rundown. In August, I had sex for the first time. A week or two afterward, it was very irritable in the vaginal area, and it looked like a had a rash around that area, and I had little bumps on my inner labia. All of this went away after about 3-4 weeks. I had a blood test done in November and nothing came back positve. I just realized that I have a red bump down there. It kind resembles a pimple or a blister. I'm scared out of my mind. I do plan to make an appointment the the GYN this week. I was just wondering has anybody else [women] experienced this. Also, what STDs show up in blood tests?

I'd bust a move like that one rich guy everyone hated and grab the nearest kid that was too young to talk and say "please, I'm all she has." I don't think I would have been able to think up anything that awesome on the spot, though.

I am stopped behind a car wanting to turn right into a driveway. I manage to get around the car, however a car on the opposite side of the road (crossing my path) has driven into a driveway, and as a result i have clipped his back tyre as he was entering the driveway. Is he at fault for failing to give way to oncoming traffic?? Or am I for hitting him?? Thanks

I've been looking into going back to school for a while now, but I just don't have the nerve to do it. My husband is the bread winner in our family and if I went back to school, I don't want to have to work on top of being a mom and a wife. I have applied for a pell grant, but I haven't heard back about it yet. I still don't know what exactly what I want to do anyway. I guess the basic classes are what scare me the most. Going in to math class and taking tests and all of that. Does anyone have any words of encouragement or any advice for me?

ok my parents have always treeted my older brother better than me. but for christmas this year they went to far. my older brother (19) got a car ($800) and I (17) got $50. i asked for some money to pay for a skiing trip in in a few weeks, and the trip costs $200. people have told me that i should not be jellous of my brother, but my parents spent so much on him and only gave me 1/4 of what i need for the trip. I know that I will not get a car when I am 19, my parents have as good as told me that. (they baught the car from my grandparents.) and my parents are always conplaining that we never have enough money. some months we have to chose between bills and food. what can i do? i have tryed to get a job, but the unemployment rate here is as high as it has ever been. i was told by 2 job angentcys that it is imposable for a teen my age to get a job in this town. also what can I do about my parents? i am sick of always getting left overs, while my brother gets so much.

My daughter is 14 years old and I'm concerned about her acne. Acne runs on my husbands side of the family (badly) including my husband, and now I see it with my daughter. The doctor has prescribed Bactrim, Doxycycline, and now Tetracycline. Her face doesn't just have the pimples, it has a lot of redness around her cheeks. She now has image issues, and I don't know what to do. Does anyone know of a good Dermatologist in Fresno Ca. with reasonable prices? My daughters face now looks scared. She is 14 years and I'm afraid that as she gets older things will get worse. Is there a stronger medication than Tetracycline? How can I help my daughter?
