A religion needs followers or else it is just an opinion, and what better way to get followers than by saying "you have already sinned, there is nothing you can do about it, you have already been cast down, unless you follow our faith and repent."

Because it is written in the Bible and Christians believe it is the Word of God. It's cannot even be prejudice let alone extreme prejudice (since Christians have the exact same view of themselves-sinners). The Bible clearly states that "all have sinned" and that Jesus was sent so that "all could be saved".

Actually, Puritans were the ones that really started the whole "everyone is a sinner thing." They say that man is NATURALLY sinful and that he is born into sin which is kind of true. I mean, if you read in the Bible in well, I was going to say a specific verse, but looking at it, at the beginning of Romans and all the way up to.....chapter 8 it goes in detail how when we have sinned it is almost like dying. Romans 7:11-- "For sin, seizing the oppurtunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and throught the commandment put me to death." It's not like this world is holy, and you can just be born and just live your life sooo holy when you are actually born in to sin. Some people think that demons walk the earth and that is how people get possessed or whatever, but if demons walk the earth, then how can WE not be born into sin? I dunno, its just my thought.

no one is a sinner. and for christianity to say they are is not only prejudice, but its just another con to get people into their churches. if a christian says i have sinned, i do find that insulting. but they sin and break their own 10 commandments more often than i can ever sin. christians are very much a breed of hyprocrites.

You'll have to take that matter up with God if you think it's prejudice; He makes the rules and sets the standards; we're merely telling you what He says in His bible.
To end on a positive note; He DOES offer a remedy for the sickness of sin; all you have to do is repent and come to him out of a contrite heart and accept His Gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ His Son!

...Sometimes the truth hurts, but in order to get help for your problem, you need to call it what it is.You may call it "prejudice" or whatever you wish, but this is what the Bible says; observe:
... Romans 3:10-12, "There is none righteous, no, not one, there is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God; all have turned aside, together they have become useless; there is none who does good, there is not even one....."
...Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
...Ecclesiastes 7:20 Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins.
...Isaiah 53:6 "All we like sheep have gone astray, we have everyone to his own way, but the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all."
...Isaiah 64:6 "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags, and we all do fade as a leaf; and iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."
...Now, we must come to Christ and believe on Him:
...Acts 16:31 says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved..."
...Act 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else..."
...John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me."
...I hope you will, too. Whosoever will, may come.
*********************************************************************
...To roxy39_2002: You need to re-check your history - the Puritans did not "start the all are sinners thing - that's been in the Scriptures since the 1st century - that's about 1900 years. The Puritans did not appear on the scene until around 1630.

No, dear. It is extreme truth. The Bible tells us, "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." Do you really think that you are a good person? Take the Good Person Test at http://www.goodpersontest.com/ .
God cannot tolerate sin of any type. He loved us so much he made a wonderful "escape clause" for us sinners. He sent His only son, born of a virgin, to lead a sinless life. That horrible punishment that Jesus suffered on the cross was what WE deserve for sinning. Jesus took it for us so that we could be forgiven.
When we finally see how dirty we are; and look to the cross to see how much Jesus suffered for us, it breaks our heart. We believe out of gratitude; not fear. We love Him because He first loved us.
Thank you for your wonderful question. I hope this helps to explain our faith to you.

how is that prejudice? Is it not true that everyone does bad things and makes mistakes? Theres proof of sin. Is it not true that Jesus dies on the cross to save us from those sins? Christians believe that. Thats why they believe that.

Being born with the guilt of Adam & Eve is the foundation of Christian teaching. Good enough in its day, and the whole thing has inspired some cracking good art, but these beliefs are outmoded - they have had their day. We need to cast off this "original sin" and guilt trip thing, as it is insidious, and above all it encourages those crazy street-preachers who come up to you and say "Have you met Jesus?"
