Ok, here's the rundown. In August, I had sex for the first time. A week or two afterward, it was very irritable in the vaginal area, and it looked like a had a rash around that area, and I had little bumps on my inner labia. All of this went away after about 3-4 weeks. I had a blood test done in November and nothing came back positve. I just realized that I have a red bump down there. It kind resembles a pimple or a blister. I'm scared out of my mind. I do plan to make an appointment the the GYN this week. I was just wondering has anybody else [women] experienced this. Also, what STDs show up in blood tests?

This sounds like it could be as innocent as an infected Bartholins gland, but could be something a little more complicated such as Genital Herpes. In any case, any of these need to be treated by a GP or at a STD clinic. The sooner, the better. Stay healthy!

even protective sex with a condom is only 80% effective

most likely its herpes. it can be spread through oral sex as well.

the first time its contracted its the most severe. herpes usually lasts several weeks if not treated. or several days when medication is used. It lies dormant in the body until your immune system is compromises(getting the flu etc).

the severity range is different for different people. some people just have small almost not noticible bumps while others have painful sores.

Hopefully the blisters you describe will still be present when you see the doctor so they can do the test. If its not make the appointment so it is. they'll need to make a direct swab test to be sure.

Dont if the doc says its herpes dont let him go without the test- it wouldn't be responsible of him!

although its not curable- it can be managed very well with Valrex.

Dont stress until you know for sure! it can be nothing as well.

It kind of sounds like maybe herpes. Sometimes it may not show up in the blood test. If it was like a cluster of bumps or sometimes one bump can be a sign. While you still have the bump you should go to the doctor asap and have them do a scraping of the bump that will be the best wat to get tested if nothing should up in you blood test. It's like a rash that comes and goes check out this site it may help answer some questions http://herpes.com/

What did you get tested for??? Did you get tested for HSV-1 , or HSV-2? If those tests came back negative, maybe what you experienced at first was a yeast infection, and if now you have a red bump down there, if it is in the entrance of the vagina maybe its a cyst, but like everyone else is saying you just have to go to your doctor. GOOD LUCK.

It could be Herpes (HSV) or the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) which are both transmittable even if you use a condom. Herpes will show up on a blood test but HPV will not. You will need to have a pap smear and ask your gyno to specifically test for HPV because it is not normally tested for on routine pap smears. Good luck.

You may need to get tested again...

Many STD viruses go dormant sometimes for many months. Herpes is one of those.

You might have herpes. In my high school health text, I don't remember anything else that went away...then came back.
