Hope to spend a week sightseeing in New York and arranging hotels and flights ( to JFK ) via the internet. My question is, do I need to be worried about being ripped off in cab fares from JFK to NYC? What's the best way to make sure I get a decent cab and pay the going rate? Sorry, may seem a stupid question but it will be my first port of call with paying for a service in the US?

My wife needs an excuse why we didn't fly back when we were supposed to and so she'll end up missing a few days of work. They want a doctors note. We can fake that, but need a believable disease.

What would be a believable disease that a doctor would tell the patient not to fly. We are vacationing in Peru and it is summer here.

I've switched to new pills & was just wondering if there was a chance I could've gotten pregnant so soon after my period was over. I had unprotected sex the first day of my new pills but I started the pills on time & was never late. I've heard that you are more fertile sometimes right before your period & right after. The trans makes a whining noise after you get up to around 35 mph. It does it in high all of the time. What might it be, and is it a major problem? It works perfectly except for the noise. It is lock up converter type trans, a 4 speed. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

I am installing a sound system in my car straight from scratch. I have built the subwoofer enclosure but now I have run into a problem. The existing amplifier power cable is too short to reach my amp. I was wondering if any other cable could be used as a substitute to extend it just a few more inches or do I need to buy a whole new amp kit? Thanks
