Not a good idea. Caffeine in any form will further dehydrate you, this is the opposite of what you want when you have a cold. It also does not give you energy, it merely speeds up the heart rate. Take care!

The best way to get rid of a cold is something my grandmother and my mother taught me, starve the cold feed the fever I think that was it or the other way around, bottom line is the more chicken noodle soup you eat the better, every time I have a cold it turns into strep or sore throat and stuff like that, not only does the soup help me feel better it makes my throat stop hurting so I can get some relief while I eat it, that is the best remedy I have found for a sore throat, chicken noodle soup

It does sound like a cold. Cold or not, it always helps to take Vitamin C capsules. Vitamin C is proven to increase the immune system.

No, the "energy" you get is from increased adrenalin, which will weaken the body.
Also, coffee is a diuretic, so you could become dehydrated.

Caffiene won't help at all. Chicken soup and lots of fluids along with zince lozenges or spray is you best bet.
