My wife needs an excuse why we didn't fly back when we were supposed to and so she'll end up missing a few days of work. They want a doctors note. We can fake that, but need a believable disease.

What would be a believable disease that a doctor would tell the patient not to fly. We are vacationing in Peru and it is summer here.

Thanx,
Kevin

Sorry to affend you NurseJ, but -

1) My wife and I are both well educated and are more than capable of string together some medical terms - my wife actually has a certificate in medical translation.

2) Since we are in Peru, it will be in Spanish.

3) Since we are in rural Peru, it is unlikely that they will call. Even if so, she has an Uncle as a doctor and he can probably fill in.

Sorry to offend you delicate sensibility, but we could not get tickets back sooner and the company she works for may fire her if we don't have an excuse. It was actually one of her boss' ideas to fake an excuse. I don't like lying either, but if the system chooses to be irrationally inflexible, then I have no choice than to bend.

For one all the company has to do is phone the doctor about the note, he says he didn't write it and you get done for fraud, that's disgusting just tell the truth, for one the company will know it's fake as the doctors write in medical terms and on headed paper moron

Tell the doc your wife had an attack of vertigo. You know, dizziness, especially when she moved her head, feeling generally unwell.
And you thought that the flight home would make the condition worse (cabin pressure inside the plane, etc, etc.)
Vertigo is a very debilitating illness.
