I don't have this problem yet really, but it could possibly become one. My BF's mother seems to have a pre-conceived notion of the "type of person" I must be to have been married twice in the past. I have no kids, lead a good life, make a good living etc. She does not think I'm good enough for her son (who has never been married). She doesn't know me and I plan on just being my usual self around her. I always get along with the parents so this is all new to me. Has anyone ever had the parents of the person you love negatively impact your relationship?

I found this college I want to go to that is $420 a credit. I have been told that this is just an asking price, and if you don't have much money they come down on the price. I am AWFUL at writing so please don't mention essays for scholarships :) I am terribly afraid that I will not be able to go to this college because of my financial situation.

I have fried a 16 lb. turkey in a deep fryer using peanut oil. Do I have to throw out all of the oil after one use, or can i strain it or something, so that I can reuse it another time. Also, how long is the used oil good for before it needs to be thrown out?

I work with people who are Mentally Retarded and I am sick of people saying I shouldn't use the word retarded in my daily language because it's not socially appropriate or politically correct. The clients I have are my equals on this planet, I have the utmost respect for people of all abilities. But I also do not feel that things should be sugar coated to make people more comforatable. I am straight forward and do not hold my clients hands through life. We all have things to over come and if we pretend they don't exist we never over come them. People have forgotten that retarded is a word that can be used for a lot of different things and it is not degrading, but descriptive. It means to be stunted, underdeveloped, or immature. Why should I not call someone who is clinically "Mentally Retarded" (diagnosis in thier medical files), exactly what they are? There is no medical diagnosis or mental health services that can be attained if someones labeled "a little slow".

If a guy is has a hard time keeping up at a girl's level (intellectually, monetary status, career, etc) why would he go to the length of being competitive if he wanted a relationship w/that girl?

Case point: I think this guy that I'm seeing has a hard time being the "guy" in the relationship because he feels inadequate I guess, although I've showed him countless times that I like him. But now he is trying to get me to confide in him whenever I'd have a crisis or something, like he needs to feel like I need him. Is that being genuine? But why is he being competitive? He did tell another guy once, about me, to not feel intimidated by me. Why would he say that? What could be his problem? And would it be stupid of me if I did have a crisis & confided in him? Is he trying to be a "man" that way instead?

I went go kart racing (indoor, up to 45mph, electric) for the first time about 2 weeks ago and I got in 11th place, out of 11. I am a female and I was the only female driver. I was afraid to go fast around the curves since I am new and I was putting the break on around curves, but that made me skid, which slowed me down A LOT. What can I do today at the race track to avoid the skid? I am trying to "ride the line" but it is new to me. thanks

Does anyone else have colitis and is trying to or have gotten pregnant? I have been diagoned with colitis for the past 2 years. I take medicine every day and am also trying to get pregnant. My doctors have all told me that once I am pregnant, I should continue taking my medication. Has anyone else taken asocal during their pregnancy? Thanks
