Our school colors are red and white. We have a falcon as a mascot. I was thinking of looking for some inspiration in some paintings. There was this guy that I heard of but I forget his name, he did that melted clock painting. I was thinking about putting a poem on it, too. Any links to a site that can help is aprecciated.

They wanted a memorable mural. One that no one would think of. They didn't mention if it had to be surreal of scary. I'm mostly leaning something towards the middle. Something freaky but not scary.

Salvador Dali did the melted clock painting. Does your school want a surreal mural though? Dali was pretty out there!
Try looking at rpmurals.home.att.net for some inspiration. Hope it turns out beautiful!

are you talking about dali with the melting clock painting? personally i think dali is a little surreal for high school and i doubt your principle or teachers would like it or maybe even get it. if you want his full name its salvador dali. if you were thinking of maybe having a melting falcon that would take away from the school spirit so not a good idea. another thing you may want to think about is poetry really in today for high school age? you want something to represent your age and taste. or you could go retro with it and look in your school library at some old year books and get some ideas there. example grease, although i wouldnt personally want that, its just an example.

You could do a falcon, on a red and white pedistal, spreading its wings, and out of the wings, have a mural of several school activities and subjects.

red and white might work good with Alaskan native or Australian native art stiles, check those. They are kind of freaky but in a good way. Alaskan raven can be easily redone to look like falcon.

Some times when we try to think too much, ideas desapear, and the inspiration it go.
In my own opinion the better way is:follow your own heart and you will find your inspiration.
