How do I keep my sectional couch from sliding apart?

It is on a hardwood floor. It slides apart about 4 or 5 inches every time anyone sits/lies in the corner. We have tried putting that sticky padding that's sold for keeping rugs down under the feet, but that didn't work.

Which "The Office" do you like better? British or American and why?

I prefer the British version myself as it is the original and is pretty funny. The American one isn't bad, it just seems like a rip-off the original - in my opinion.

I need all the help I can get......?

Ok, I found out that my b/f might be getting me a promise ring for Christmas. The day of our 6 month anniversary (the 26th) I have to leave to go to Florida for a week. Because he has gotten hurt in the past, he seems to think I am going to do the same. I have no intention of hurting him in anyway ever because I love him with all of my heart. He doesn't want to believe it because he doesn't want to get hurt again. Is there anything I can tell him, or song I can burn onto a cd for christmas for him, that would let him know I'm in it for the long run, and love him with everything I am? I mean, I love him more than life itself. Please help.

Why is it that christians have to make it known to everyone that they're christian?

They wear crosses and other religious garbage, they say "i'm a christian" after everyone useless sentence they say, and they use exclamations like "jesus" and "oh lord" when they talk. I know theres no god but i dont wear shirts saying that. Why is it that christians need to make it known to everyone that there dumb enough to be a christian?

Can't load Windows 95 on my old laptop?

I have recently purchased a new old laptop. I got a 6 GB hard drive in it. It originally had no OS in it. I put in a Windows 98 boot disk and put in command.com and scandisk log files in. Then I decided I didn't want 98 on it. I erased the files. I put in a Windows 95 boot disk and it still boots to 98 even though there are no files on the hard drive. It says "Type in command interpreter". I type something in but the message comes up again no matter what I type in. What's going on? Did I royally screw up or can I fix this. PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!!

i love my cat, but she poops on the floor!?

I have three cats, two of whom are perfectly litterbox trianed, just by me showing them where the litterboxes are, but another who...well, let's just say she lives up to her name of Hitler (she has a black mustache, she's antisocial, and she drops poop bombs all the time!). She only poops in one of our two litterboxes, regardless of cleanliness of either, and when she goes in the floor, she only does it in ONE place: right up against this certain wall in my living room. We've tried having the carpet and walls cleaned, in case there is a certain scent telling her this is a pooping zone, and it doesn't help. Now, we just tell her "No!" while showing her the poo, then put her outside. We bring her back in the next day and take her straight to the litterbox, set her in it, and pet her to encourage her. However, this has NO effect. Please help! I want my kitty to stay indoors so she doesn't get run over or eaten, but I can't deal with her poop anymore!!!

Military to law enforcement career change??

I'm about to separate from the military and i have long had an intrest in law enforcement. I would like to know what I need to do to make the hiring board look at my package and say "this is who we need on our team". Any input from officers both active and retired would be greatly appreciated.

Have you ever heard of a virus that makes your turn down it's volume?

I'm not sure if this is a virus or a setting the computer can be on. Other people were using my computer today so I'm not sure if they accidently did something or if it's a virus. I have McAfee and Norton, but they're both coming up negative. The volume is going down completly so, there is no sound.

Truck has no power...?

My 1990 Ford Bronco has no power.I was told it needed a tune up so I did- no better.air filter ok.Gas treatment didnt help...Checked catalytic converter and its not stopped up.The car will strain when you take off, the rpms go way up to 4k but the car doesnt pick up it just putters kinda like a wind up toy.I can barely get it over 55 on the highway pedal to the floor.Its also idling all over the place on start.
I read here someone else is having a problem like this, could it be the torque converter? The car is also shuddering and clunking into gear.Will a torque converter effect power at all?

Does it really matter if there's an afterlife?

I'm sort of with Nietzsche on this one. I can't quote exactly from Thus Spoke Zarathustra since I loaned out my copy, but basically he says, "Everyone who's so obsessed with the afterlife can go live it."

We're here, now. Does it really matter how we got here? Does it really matter what's next? We have no way of knowing.

If you start from an agnostic standpoint, from a perennial maybe, there's no really good reason to believe in anything. If you are biased towards Christianity you will believe, if you are biased towards atheism you won't.

I know one thing for certain: I am here, right now. I want to make the most of my time here. If there is an afterlife, I don't want to spend the rest of my afterlife wishing I'd done things now.

I look forward to reading the counterarguments.

I just went through my second ivf cycle and am 5 weeks 5 days pregnant according to ultrasound today.?

My doctor was unable to detect a fetal heart beat but said it may be too early. He said only 60% of the time he is able to detect them that early and not to worry too much. I can't help but worry has anyone else had this experience?
