My doctor was unable to detect a fetal heart beat but said it may be too early. He said only 60% of the time he is able to detect them that early and not to worry too much. I can't help but worry has anyone else had this experience?

Yes, I have experienced this. When I had my first ultrasound after my transfer I was only 5 weeks along and the heartbeat was not detected. However when I went back for my second ultrasound at 7 weeks we heard the heartbeat.

I wouldn't worry. You saw the yolk sac and the doctor would tell you if there was a problem. And in a couple of weeks you will get to hear the heartbeat. Congratulations!!!

First, congratulations! It is true that it may be too early to detect a fetal heartbeat. In fact, at my 2 month checkup, I was excited to hear my baby's heartbeat, but the doctor did not let me hear it, just in case something like your situation happened. My doctor did not want to make me worry.
If your doctor took urine samples (pH levels) as well as another pregnancy test and said that everything was okay, then EVERYTHING IS OKAY! :)
Haha, before every month's check-up, I was SO incredibly nervous to go in just because I had a fear that my baby was not okay (motherly nerves, I guess :) )... Just eat right, exercize daily (walking), and stay positive! There is nothing better than being happy, healthy, and fit during your pregnancy!

ONCE AGAIN, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Sweetie, don't worry yet! More than likely at your next US (after 6 weeks in some cases 7) you will see a heart beat! It's not uncommon for a baby to not have a heart beat before 6 weeks and still come out to be 100% healthy after 9 months!!

:) CONGRATS! i went through ivf and was fortunate also! i am now at 22 weeks with a singleton pregnancy. i had my first US done at 5 weeks, 1 day and not only was there no heart beat visable BUT there was no baby in sight either... the doctor had me prepared for a "chemical pregnancy" (no baby, only a sack and hormones running rampid). SO, i had another US done at 6 weeks, 6 days and guess what? the heart beat was strong in the infant that looked like a little shrimp (with it's funny tail). DON'T WORRY, everything is fine!

at 17 weeks i had another US done to determine sex, IT'S A BOY. and the best news, the baby is growing EXACTLY at the pace that would be expected.

again, i would like to send my CONGRADULATIONS out to you!

First of all Congratulations to you. And now to answer your quetion. My fetal heartbeat didnt show up on any thing until I was 10 weeks. I was so worried about getting my hopes up. Untill I heard it. Now I have been told that it could take longer then that. So I wouldnt worry to much. It could also be the way the fetus is facing.

most of the time its hard to detect a heart beat until about 20 wks. thats the first time i had an ultrasound. i dont understand why doctors are giving them so early to so many people unless theyre just not sure when the LMC was...?

A lot of times they cannot even get a heartbeat at 6 weeks. Mine had heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days. Sounds like things are progressing normally so far.

the heart usually doesn't even start beating until 6 weeks so i wouldn't be worried at all about it.
