Ok, I found out that my b/f might be getting me a promise ring for Christmas. The day of our 6 month anniversary (the 26th) I have to leave to go to Florida for a week. Because he has gotten hurt in the past, he seems to think I am going to do the same. I have no intention of hurting him in anyway ever because I love him with all of my heart. He doesn't want to believe it because he doesn't want to get hurt again. Is there anything I can tell him, or song I can burn onto a cd for christmas for him, that would let him know I'm in it for the long run, and love him with everything I am? I mean, I love him more than life itself. Please help.

I'm really getting frantic about this. I mean, I have had bad past relationships too, and I just want him to stay with me, and be able to trust me, like I trust him.

You know everything you just said to all of us in that paragraph?...That is exactly what you need to say to him. Tell him that you would never hurt him and it kind of hurts you to know that he won't give trusting your word a chance. Tell him that you love him more than life itself and that you need him in your life. Let him know that you are in it for the long run no matter what happens. Sounds to me like you know exactly what you need to say to him!!
Everyone gets hurt at some time and every now and then you run across someone who feels like they can't trust again. You just have to show him that it is possible and that when you truely love someone you can make it through anything. Good Luck! I hope it all works out for you.

Forget the songs or CD's. If you are that serious about him, ask yourself why are you worried about the ring? I would suspect that it's too soon and I would just tell him that you aren't going anywhere AND you don't need a ring to prove it. Also, a promise ring has a "promise" attached to it (which is stupid anyway) - if you aren't prepared to marry him, I wouldn't accept it.

first of all you shouldn't love him more than life. Second there is a song written adn sung by Paul Overstreet called "Forever and Ever" also sung by Randy Travis. It is a country song but it kinda goes like this: "I'm gonna love you forver and ever forever and ever amen, As long as old men sit and talk about the weather as long as old woman sit and talk about old men if you wonder how long I'll be faithful just listen to how this song ends I'm gonna love you forever and ever forever and ver Amen"

Just remind him that you are not the other person who hurt him
and he needs to learn how to trust again .
