It is on a hardwood floor. It slides apart about 4 or 5 inches every time anyone sits/lies in the corner. We have tried putting that sticky padding that's sold for keeping rugs down under the feet, but that didn't work.

Having the same issue. Saw a recommendation for a product sold on Amazon called Sofa Snap. They have a few different options and they look like the most permanent solution I've found. Tried plastic zip ties on the feet and they broke fairly quickly. I may try strong zip ties before going the Sofa Snap route. They've gotten pretty good reviews on Amazon, so that seems the safest route rather than trial and error.

There is this stuff that you can by at the dollar store, it is used as shelf liner, It comes in a roll about 5-6 feet long and it looks like a wafer (with little holes in it) it is kind of rubbery. I use it for everything except shelf liner. It holds my couch cushions in place and my area rugs in place. Give it a try, if it doesn't work all you have waisted is a dollar.

I don't know if it would work, but go to a hardware store or dollar store and pick up a few of the rubber door stopper/wedges. I've used them to keep a trolley from moving around quite as much.

Sadly, they are not a pretty solution. Oh, and see if you can get a lighter colour of rubber, because there's probably a chance that the rubber will mark the floor.

Try using 1-2" velco strips. Much stronger then the sticky pads.

Assuming the sections have some type of feet, try tying them together somehow - perhaps with bungee cords or tie wraps. They wouldn't be so noticable.
