I mean, "USA" is just an abbreviation. The United States of America's name is not "USA."

Referring to Xmas being offensive as an abbreviation of Christmas.

"X" is an abbreviation for "Christ" in Greek (of which the first letter is X). You often see IC XC NIKA on ancient icons -- it's short for "Jesus Christ Conquers."

So saying that "Xmas" is demeaning to Christ is absurd. It's an abbreviation, nothing more.

No, it doesn't make you anti-american, that's ridiculous. Lots of people say they live in the USA. You can also say you live in the United States, or the US. The only incorrect thing is to say you live in America, because that could mean any country in North or South America, including Mexico, Cuba, Canada, and so on.
