i am trying to find a source for learning about his history. I have searched many U. S. Naval Academy web sites. I have discovered he was credited with helping save the USS Constitution and was the superintendant during the Cival War. I would like to find any resouce books or sites about his times in the Navy.

Ok. Here is a story.
There is a man. He is family to you in some way. He has been charged with lying to the grand jury in a possible murder/kidnapping case. He is awaiting trial. Would you have unconditional love for him? Would you still support him?? Would you believe him?? Would you defend him without knowing ALL the details? Or would you let people talk their crap? Why??

Out of work, Looking for work steadily to no avail...and couldn't afford a single biscuit to put under the tree your dog chooses as his restroom each morning....What would you choose to do? In fear of becoming Ebenezer, would you...A. Avoid contact with everyone you know for the last 6 days? B. Would you just keep trying to find a job even as doors are slammed in your face? C. Would you....Hmmmm....Just grin and bear with the feelings you face and fake the truth in how you feel about being broke and unable to give gifts...You may come up with more options..Feel free to add them, as long as they stay within the confines of decency and compassion. God Bless.

Here's the problem, My boyfriends birthday is coming up and I
want to surprise him in a really cool way. I want it to be special.
something that nobody has ever done for him before. I know that
his mom his planning him a party so that's out.
But here's the deal anytime I plan something ahead of time he
always snoops and finds out what the surprise is before I can
spring it on him. This ruins the surprise because he already
knows whats up. But if I make it hard for him to find out things
like this he gets really really made and accuses me of cheating
on him and all that. So does anybody have any good ideas of
what I can try?

1st of all: I would like to ask my excuses for having removed the topic "If you were an animal, would you rather be a fluffy or a wild one?", since when I created that one I actually thought the nice word "fluffy" could also mean something lovely 'cos the correspondent word here in Brazil also owns this connotation (it's its main meaning indeed), but I was so wrong about it... Shame on me! Besides I would like to thank a lot everybody who answered that question.

So it's the shopping season and I need some advice as to which would be the best idea for my 3 year old little girl. Considering our living arrangements (living with my parents) at the moment and the amount of toys this girl already has, I wanted to do something more constructive for her as a gift and just get her a few little things and some stocking stuffers to open Christmas day. She is a very energetic girl and loves playing with drums, keyboards, etc. and also loves to dance and jump and be active. I was thinking of either getting her an instrument along with lessons but I don't know if this is age appropriate or trying out something like karate, ballet, or gymnastics but I want something that might transcend with her as she gets older but I don't know which one would be best to start her out with now. Any advice would be appreciated or personal experience with one's own children, etc so that I get her involved in something that she might like now and perhaps later on. Thx:)

Can someone tell me the difference between a "portable external" hard drive and just an "external" hard drive? They both look portable to me being that they are external. I assume that a regular external (something like a "WD MyBook") is not as rugged and therefore not suited for travel? Or is it something as simple as the "portable" ones are powered by USB where the others have an AC adapter.

I know the "Portable" ones cost a lot more. Has anyone a used a regular external, like a MyBook, for portable uses? If I am careful and not banging it around is it OK to use for portability? I'd like to hear from someone with experience on this one.

Thanks!
