Out of work, Looking for work steadily to no avail...and couldn't afford a single biscuit to put under the tree your dog chooses as his restroom each morning....What would you choose to do? In fear of becoming Ebenezer, would you...A. Avoid contact with everyone you know for the last 6 days? B. Would you just keep trying to find a job even as doors are slammed in your face? C. Would you....Hmmmm....Just grin and bear with the feelings you face and fake the truth in how you feel about being broke and unable to give gifts...You may come up with more options..Feel free to add them, as long as they stay within the confines of decency and compassion. God Bless.

I think all your friends already know your situation and aren't expecting anything ,I'm sorry Christmas makes you feel so stressed because I'm sure it's not necessary .
Remember the reason for the season is God's Gift to you ,God's love for you and the birth of the Greatest man that ever lived.
Do you know Jesus was broke ,by choice ,and spent his time passing from town to town spreading the best gifts of all?
His love and his Gospel .
Aren't you that guy that writes all that awesome Poetry on here?
Can you draw a little too?How about you make some nice Christmas cards and do what Jesus did, spread the message of love and Christ gift and maybe with your writing skills you could find away to personalize each message for the individual.
Not an artist?Maybe you could work on the poetry at home and get the art work off the Internet ,Don't have a printer ?my library cost .25 for black and whites and 1.00 for color.
I know if I had a broke friend go to that much trouble for me it would bring tears to my eyes and I would Cherish that card for life,All material gift are later gone but personal things like that are forever, now stop feeling sorry for yourself thank God for giving you talent and get busy!
Remember to make a few extra for the people that surprise you showing up with gifts ,I keep boxes of chocolates and cookies for surprise gifters so they can't make ya feel bad for not remembering them too.

Well, I am also out of work. I just resigned last December 7. As for me, I will take time out to be with family and friends. Christmas isn't about the material stuff. Money can't buy you the best things in life. Besides, being in the company of people who truly love you and care for you can be a good stress reliever.. Enjoy Christmas, being broke is not an excuse not to. God bless.

I would not let Christmas stress me out, I would do (B). keep looking despite the fact that the doors are being slammed. You can briefly explain to your friends, family, etc.... that at the present time you aren't able to purchase gifts or what have you. You dont have to go into details about why and if they are your close freinds they shouldnt expect a gift anyway and they should be understanding of your situation.

My spouse spent cash find it irresistible grew on bushes and I used to be Lucky to repay the final Christmas earlier than the following one used to be right here. It received to the factor I dreaded the inspiration of it. I believe of Christmas as mainly American, one more cause to over extra on fabric matters. BAA HUMBUG !!!

hmmm...

methinks that if you are wanting to give gifts to friends, friends will understand your inability to give....

but me also thinks that a little creativity goes a long ways... picture frames in thrift stores are usually very cheap. add a picture or a nice quote and - ta da- a gift is born!!

as far as looking for a job, take a break over the holidays. make a few framed pictures and sell them at the market....

god bless!!

B and C. I would also consider going to a church and asking for some assistance, most Churches are willing to help.
