I have 2 weeks off school for the holidays, and a mother in law who wouldn't mind watching my son for a day here and there. I'm trying to find some place (specific, not just general ideas!) to volunteer that wouldn't require a long term commitment... Just want to do something nice for someone else over the holidays. Ideas?

I graduated from college in 03'. Since then, I've gotten a teaching job and I live on my own. It's really boring and I talk to my cats too much. I have a few friends, but none that I would consider close. I'm a very reserved person. I kind of feel like I'm wasting my 20's by keeping to myself like this. I want to get out there and do something with my life, but don't really know how. I have a boyfriend that will soon be a fiance, but it's long distance so he can't really provide any boredom relief on any kind of regular basis.

Why is it that so many religious fanatics get into so much trouble with stuff that they have done...priests molesting, that one gay dude that was cheating on his wife...etc. Shouldn't they know better, and want to please God? I am just a regular chick that doesn't cheat, lie too much, or steal stuff. If I'm a really good person why is it fair that I have to burn in hell just because I don't believe in all the far fetched stuff that is in the bible when a child molester can claim Jesus as their saviour and get off scott free. I just don't get it. I hope someone will take the time to explain this without quoting a ton of crap from that book I don't belive in.

ever since I graduated from eigth grade all my friends stoped talking to me.. It all started when my so called "best friend" started hanging out with them now I don't get invited anywere when we wanna hang out and catch up. I know she talks about me but what do I do I want to hang out with my friends but I NEVER get notified when things are happening I either find when it's happening or after when I see pictures and their jokes and comments about it on myspace.. Wy must my "best friend" be such a *****... I want to know how can I see my friends without her coming to start any dramma.

I was watching ESPN earlier today and they were saying that the refs have been controlling the game too much.
I'm a Seahawk fan and I was disgusted when I saw the flag being thrown against the Packer def. lineman for roughing the passer. He wasn't close to the QB's head and Hasselback turned his head after he released the ball. Maybe to get a personal foul called a QB can duck and turn his head toward the rusher to get a penalty called. How can a rusher stop his full speed rush in split second decision?
I know it was Matt's first game back from an injury on a freak accident, but come on, let them play.
A good example is when the Giant def. end stopped his sack on Vince Young because he thought the ball was thrown and didn't want a 15yd penalty called against him.
Who else thinks that QB's should take their lumps and let's get the playing of the game continue w/o being controlled by the refs?

Its interesting to see how Americans standby and cheer or just plainly do nothing when abuses are hurled to their president. Is America such a country with no culture that this kind of behaviour is ok? They are making fun of your president in Canada(with the broke back mountain movie canadian version), the Venezuelan president came and called your president a devil and nobody openend their mouths!!! The world sits back and watches as Americans abuse and taunt their leader shamelessly. Isnt there a man or woman or child who is capable of standing up and saying Enough is Enough? When a country is suffering, America comes to their aid, when people are hungry, America comes to their aid, when a Tsunami strike, America shows up, I mean, thanks alot for all your help. We are very grateful. But please, the world respects you America and believe me, we are soooo amazed when we see how you treat your president. We wonder whether that is some sort of entertainment for us!! Is it?

I have a quilt that is called Mariner's Star. I need the quilting design for the sides, and corners. I think it has an anchor and water design on it but not for sure. I have lost my quilting pattern if you know of such a quilt and the quilting design I would love to know how to finish it.
