Having had braces myself, I feel for the pain you are feeling. it hurts when they are tightened, too, FYI. You know you need protein everday, so try small pieces of fish or meat cut into little pieces. yogurt, applesauce and healthy soups are a good option. Just wait till you see your georgeous smile!!!!!

You should cut up small pieces of some foods and just swallow them. Braces really stink the first week you have them on, and a few days after the first several times you get them tightened. Experts actually suggest eating foods normally (after tighting) beause it makes you get used to the pain and makes it go away faster. Take some pain killers, like Advil. That always helps a little bit. Good luck, you will LOVE the final result!

I ate "mush" my first week in braces. I would eat milkshakes, mash potatoes, pudding, etc. You may even consider baby food. I did and some of it is actually good! However, just look forward to knowing the pain does go away, until they change/tighten the wire.
Congratulations, you are now on the road to a beautiful smile (and its worth all the pain).

I had my braces for 5 years and I never really conquered them. Try soup and crackers, but you have to squish the crackers up in the soup first. I ate that the most. Also pastas are not bad, so you could easily have some mac and cheese. Good luck with the braces. I hated them like nothing, but I'm sure you're not loving them either.

I had braces when I was 15, I had them for 2 years, talk to your dentist on the foods you can and cannot eat. Typically the first week after any adjustment will be painfull, the following 3 weeks will not. It will be this way throughout the remainding time.

Stay away from chewy foods! You might be on a liquid diet for a day or two. Also Orajel andon't forget the wax so you don't cut up the inside of your mouth. If it's been a few days and you're still in a lot of pain then see your orhthodontist. You may need a looser elastic. That's what happened to me. I promise it won't hurt this bad aftward

Baby foods, mashed potatoes, pudding, pretty much anything that doesn't require you to chew.
