I would like to do them at home but I cant think of a way that doesnt look so tacky. Outside would look nice but its freezing. Any ideas where I can take some or suggetions on decorating the house?

u can do it by a christmas tree with lights or a house that has nice decorations

try taking pictures in front of a white wall or drape a white blanket on the wall for a studio effect then embellish and add effects with photoshop.
