the world, which will be destroyed by fire and fervent heat (2 Peter 3:12). You may ask what does Noah's flood have to do with the end of the world? Well, it is very interesting that God begins this chapter speaking about the scoffers of Noah's day and then transitions into the day of the Lord (last day or end of the world). The transition statement is, "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." In Genesis 7:4, we read that God gave Noah seven days to get his family and all the animals into the ark before the worldwide flood.
