Science is a vast subject dealing with study and analysis of natural phenomena, physical entities and even certain social entities. The gamut of science encompasses a wide spectrum of subjects.

Technology is a broad term dealing with the use and knowledge of humanity's tools and crafts.

It is difficult to obtain precise definition of science or technology. According to the involved science fields and engineering domain where it is developed, there are many kinds of technologies. Generally, the following distinctions can be made:

* Science is the formal process of investigating natural phenomena. It produces information and knowledge about the world.
* Engineering is the goal-oriented process of designing and building tools and systems to exploit natural phenomena for a practical human means. Engineers work within the constraints of natural laws and societal needs to create technology.
* Technology is the consequence of these two processes and societal requests. Most commonly, the term technology is used as the name of all engineering products.

Hope that helps...

Think of it this way: techonology is created out of new demands and discoveries in science. For example: if Dr. Fleming never discovered Pennicillin mold, we never would have developed technology for extracting the chemicals that kill bacteria and making them safe for human and animal consumption. Where would gyroscopes be without gravity? Science preceeds technology, and technology is developed with new discoveries in science.

Science in the broadest sense refers to any system of knowledge attained by verifiable means.[1] In a more restricted sense, science refers to a system of acquiring knowledge based on empiricism, experimentation, and methodological naturalism, as well as to the organized body of knowledge humans have gained by such research. This article focuses on the meaning of science in the latter sense.

Technology is a word with origins in the Greek word technologia (τεχνολογία), techne (τέχνη) "craft" and logia (λογία) "saying." It is a broad term dealing with the use and knowledge of humanity's tools and crafts
