No. Chop Sticks are utilized by the way you hold them; not by the way they are designed.

As a left-hander and an uncoordinated one at that I choose not to use chop sticks at all. and if the restaurant isn't willing to provide great American (lazy man's) silverware then I would probably just take my business elsewhere. But on a less cynical note, I would assume there really is no difference, unless we use them upside down. Comical as it may sound, I hope this helps sort things out for you.
