i do not have enough right now. im wondering how i should finance. i got 5000$ and only make 730$ a month(part time 17 hrs
). i can spend all my money on the car becuase i dont pay for living expense. im only 20 years old. i dont plan on getting another job because of college. wha would be a good downpayment area?

We often hear that looks may be important, but character is as important if not more so.

However, I've noticed that people assess another person's character based on their looks. If you like a girl, she may be dumb as a rock but whatever she says sounds reasonable and even intelligent to you. If a girl doesn't like you, no matter how gentlemanly, romantic and genteel you are, all your gestures will be wrong.

If she likes you, flowers are a present that expresses caring. If she doesn't like you, she'll say you're corny, old-fashioned, silly and just tasteless. Similarly, if he likes you, any little gesture will be interpreted as well-meaning, refined, pretty or smart. The same gesture, done by a girl he doesn't like, will be (to him) silly, meaningless, contradictory or just plain stupid.

If our own appreciation of character is thus tainted by the basic physical attraction, then could we say that "looks" is in the end the only thing that matters?

Here is the situation, I'll be brief. I haven't spoken to my father since I was 13, going on 16 years. My father was a physically and verbally abusive to me during my childhood. I'm now 29 and I don't know what to do...

I am stuggling financially, but my father's side of the family is wealthy. My grandmother made a fortune in oil and my father has made a few millions himself. I know if I reunite with my dad my financial worries would be gone. My brother still keeps in touch with him and he tells me that my Dad always asks about me, misses me. I am torn and I don't know what to do. Do I continue to not talk to my father and be written out my father's will and lose an inheritance in the millions (I am not in my grandmother's will and my brother informed me I am not in my father's will as well). Or do I try to establish some sort of relationship so I can have access to that enormous fortune?

For those that are atheist, why do you observe a day with such a name as Christmas? Why no Evolution-mas? Why no Atheist-mas? We live thousands of miles apart and it seems distance and our circumstances will keep us away from each other's arms. I love him so dearly and I believe he does and he promises to love me forever. We keep in touch everyday, we send each other gifts. I have loved him all my life and I am just so scared that the day will come when this has to end and we have to move on. I have a good college friend who is straight and knows I am gay. He is nice and accepting and invites me to hang out with his friends or to study with him often. I am torn becaue I think I have a crush on him, so I end up rejecting his invitations fearing that my feelings towards him will only grow stronger. I am thinking of telling him, but think it would probably be a bad idea. What would really come of it? However I feel so torn that I sometimes feel it would be best just not to be a part of his life. I think it would be rude just to leave him and never give him any reasons. Does anyone have any advice for me in this situation? I would really appreciate it.

I watched his show once about 'interracial marriage' I picked up on something...check it out:
1st guest- Young girl/woman (white) engaged to a black man. Her mother was upset about this and wanted her to think about consequences such as what would happen if (god forbid) she ended up having mixed race grandchildren. Dr Phil tried to facilitate communications between them.

....comercial break....

2nd guest- Adult woman from a mixed race relationship. She has very 'black' features hair/ ect but was raised by her white mother, in a white neighbourhood with no contact with her fathers side of the family. Her father was not even part of her life growing up or now. She has huge self esteem issues and hates herself. She says she so mixed up about her 'identity'. Dr Phil tried to 'help her'...bla bla bla

OK It was my observation that the 2nd womans problems OBVIOUSLY had more to do with her father abandoning her and her lack of connection with her culture as a child. DUH
