This relates to my "Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays" question.

Do you use holiday lights in December? If so, why and how?

I use white lights for the Winter Solstice, a European Pagan holiday, as it is about the return of the light to the world. The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year, so we celebrate that light will come back and things will only get brighter from here on in.

I heard that black coffee, no cream, no sugar helps children that are hyper. True or Not? Anyone know a natural remedy?

That movie kicked butt! It had everything - high ideals, action, romance, and suspense. Probably won't be popular with many more of my fellow Americans, though. We've gotten out of the habit of standing up to an oppressive government which robs us of our freedoms and liberties. "V" was set in a surveillance society. Scary, huh? Seems like that is what we are moving toward.

He's with the girl he cheated on me with. And he feels like he still can tell me what to and when to do it as if we still a couple. I still in love with him, but we can't be together even though I want him back. We been through a lot during our relationship. Just tell what does this mean.

I shouldn't have bought the low-fat kind; I don't like it enough for a lasagna -- with all the effort and expense of a good pan of lasagna, it'd be cruel to ruin it with sub-par ricotta.

So I'm figuring I'll experiment with it; try something new and hope for something good enough to be made again with all the deliciousness of fat.

NB: vegetarian suggestions, please, though within reason -- if meat is a less-than-critical ingredient, I can figure out a way around it.

Stuff I have on hand: lots of cheeses (cheddars, mozza, feta, romano, parmigiano-reggiano, provolone, bocconcini) -- can I make a good dip of some sort? Leftover crepe batter, though ricotta + fruit in crepe is too obvious. Mushroom soup. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions; all the basic veg. Pasta, inc'l cannelloni, but -- 'too obvious.' English muffins. Chives. Loads of dried herbs & spices. Veg stock. Cream. Lentils. Dried porcini & oyster mushrooms..

No, you can't come over for dinner, though. Sorry about that part.

Apparently Islam is growing rapidly in Latin America both by immigration and conversion. Has anybody had experience with this? How do the muslims relate to the surrounding culture; do they integrate or separate themselves? Do they follow local customs or customs from the middle east or elsewhere?

and yet deny he was the son of God and that he rose from the dead. Jesus said he was going to be raised from the dead so if he did not do what he said he would be a liar and not a great prophet. The muslim's can't deny this.

A friend of mine is from Zambia, she says that she belonged to a tribe which got u thinking about how a tribe is defined. Even she wasn't sure what it means to be part of a tribe. So, what is a tribe and how would a tribe become something other than a tribe (a nation?)

My heart aches for those that don't know the unconditional love of Christ and it hurts for those that don't want to know Him. He is God, he is love and peace. Who wouldn't want that? He is my everything!

Ok... I'm receiving signals, but I'm no expert at deciphering.

I talk to this girl at work. I like her, she knows it, I know it... the whole Finance division in our company knows it. Not because I make it out to be a big deal, but because gossip flows (as in any other office).

We have gone to lunch a few times, but I haven't made a move because... I'd like to take it painfully slow. We're good friends, and I may as well leave it at that because I'd probably rather be just friends with her.

We talk fairly often. But in the last two days, she's mentioned three times that something's bothering her, and just as she's about to say what it is, she'll say "forget it, I can't tell you that".

WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN?? (besides that she doesn't want to tell me?)
