Weird signals?

Ok... I'm receiving signals, but I'm no expert at deciphering.

I talk to this girl at work. I like her, she knows it, I know it... the whole Finance division in our company knows it. Not because I make it out to be a big deal, but because gossip flows (as in any other office).

We have gone to lunch a few times, but I haven't made a move because... I'd like to take it painfully slow. We're good friends, and I may as well leave it at that because I'd probably rather be just friends with her.

We talk fairly often. But in the last two days, she's mentioned three times that something's bothering her, and just as she's about to say what it is, she'll say "forget it, I can't tell you that".

WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN?? (besides that she doesn't want to tell me?)

Either she wants to go further with your friendship or there is a problem that she is uncomfortable talking to you about. As part of the female race, it's difficult to express our feelings or emotions to guys simply because many were brought up to not show feelings at all.

Ask if everything is ok with her, if she looks unhappy ask why. Tell her you can be a soundboard and will only give your opinion when she asks. Many girls (as well as guys), don't want others opinion, they just want someone to listen.

If the problem is with you, then you two should have a talk. Tell her not to be ashamed/scared/embarassed, you can always say that you had been to nervous to take things further because you didn't want to lose the friendship you have with her.

I hope this helps you, or at least give you a better insight into a girl's mind.

its not that she doesnt want to tell u is just that she doesnt think that she can trust u enough it seems that u guys have a really good thing going there so heres what... try the same thing say somethings been bothering me or just look really depressed if u 2 r that close as u say she'll ask whats the matter tell her something(anything thats worth being depressed over) she'll then c that u have nothing to hide and hopefully she'll do the same

I think there is a fine line between the friend zone and the relationship zone..be careful you don't want this girl to think that you have befriended her simply because you want to take things further. However, the thing that is bothering her could well be feelings for you..i would suggest invite her out for a meal or a film and see how things go from there...although don't officially say its a date because it might seem a bit too forward..!! First women are weird, don't forget that.

But also, this a real oppertunity to make a real connection with her. She wants to talk. Like with kids who say "I have a secret, but I can't tell you." They are dying to tell the secret but they want you to get it out of them, otherwise they would not bring it up. This girl is doing the same thing. She wants to tell you, but she is scared of what you'll think. You should assure her that you already like and respect her and that you are her friend and want to help her and support her. Or you could just let the moment slip by.
