ok, well...I DO have a rx for Viagara..my Dr. told me it will not cause any problems (with the HBP meds)..and as long as Im not on nitrates..or have chest pain..I'll be ok...(by the way....WOW...guess what?...Viagara really does work!!!) and Im only 44 if ur wondering! ha!

Hypertension can cause sexual problems. Viagra is a vaso-dilator and can not be used with other vaso-dilators such as nitroglycerin because it can cause an unsafe drop in blood pressure and even death. As far as I can tell Toprol XL is not a vaso-dilator it is used for hypertension and stable cardiac conditions such as angina. This is really a question for your doctor and or pharmacist not yahoo answers.

Yes, HBP can cause sexual dysfunction. Toprol shouldn't, though. No, you should NOT be on Viagra. No doctor would prescribe it when you have high blood pressure. That can kill you.

high blood pressure can cause sexual dysfunction in males. And antihypertensive meds can also cause sexual dysfunction in males. As for using something like Viagra with antihypertensive meds, the person to ask is your doctor, whom you will have to talk to anyway to get a prescription for the viagra.
