why do modern engineers & scientists prefer binary number system to other number systems although we have so many number systems & most importantly binary number system is not found in nature? Secondly, although the human mind can comprehend much higher(read: more complex) number systems then why can't we design digital systems on such higher platforms?.... I mean what are the discrepancies in other number systems?

Is there anything other than Sex & walking I can do to speed up my labor. I have only dialted one centimeter. This is my first child and I am having pre-labor pains but nothing major is happening. Any word of advise?

If you can normally tell when a change is about to happen or something and you are usually right and you have this feeling like something is about to happen and you prepare yourself for it, but all of a sudden there is this nagging feeling like you are so wrong and off base about this one. is the nagging feeling that's telling you that you are wrong actually correct or is it just a "safty net" because what think is about to happen and preparing to happen would hurt your feelings so the nagging feeling is just you trying to convince yourself different to spare your own feelings. I already know there are going to be lots of jokes at my expense about this question, but if possible I would like a few serious remarks please, I am really confused and can usually know without a doubt that my feelings are correct, I don't like this confusion and would like to know someone else's thoughts if possible. thank you.

If I've got my history right the US military has not done so well in limited wars like Vietnam because they are limited. Meaning we can't go wherever we want to destroy the enemy which means the enemy has us by the balls. So if we can't do whatever we feel is necessary to win the war on terror (like we did in WWII) how will the US ever win?

Hello,
I'm having a problem with my climate control system in my truck. Of the 3 knobs avaliable (fan, temp, and function), only the fan knob is functioning correctly; the temp knob doesn't change the temp at all, and with the "function" knob, and position other than "off" turns the A/C on - I'm wondering if one of the wires may be bad, or one may not be grounded - I'm considering picking up a unit from the junkyard and see if that works - any thoughts??? I'd appreciate it, as winter is quickly approaching!!!

I pretty much know the answers I'm going to get but here goes....

Sahm's... Does that mean it's your job to raise the children and the other half basically brings home the money and doesn't have the child burden?

Working Moms.. Is it still your responsibility to raise the children or do you get 50/50 help?

I'm just curious. I work 3rd shift part-time and I take care of my kids and my friend doesn't work at all just takes care of the kids and the family dynamic is polar opposite so I just wanted to see others answers towards this.

Hey! Im 22, soon to be 23 and 5 months pregnant. Im not a "girly girl" and I am starting to out-grow my regular clothes. Does anyone know of a store, or online store, where I can get cute clothes that arent super girly? I read recently an article in the newspaper; one of these columnist who gives advice on computers - that it is possible to read an email without actually opening it (should you suspect a virus or don't want the sender to know you read the email)- it has something to do with right click - Has anyone heard of it - I don't know what I did with the clipping. My pet rabbit licks my han and arm whenever I pet him and say hi to him. Does anyone know if this is a good or friendly thing? He's a nice calm rabbit so I'm assuming he doesn't want to eat me or something. I'm just not sure if it means the same thing as when, say, dogs lick you.
