people have pets and can't afford to get them to the vet when they are ill. I've ran across so many questions from numerous people needing answers from others about their pet's health conditions, some being quite serious. Yet there seems to be a popular theme, "I can't afford to take them to the vet". If a person or family is strapped for money to begin with, why enter a animal into the mix? They require special needs that differentiate from humans. They have to have all their appropriate shots, they need to be either spayed or neutered, and when they get sick or injured, they need immediate attention from the vet that could require hospitalization and medications etc. These items are extremly expensive! Before anyone gets a pet, they should contact their local animal hospital and find out how much each shot and procedure is. Then they should weigh the pros and cons of having a pet and then decide. This is just my opinion. What do you think?
