When a man says it's the women's fault that he hit her because "a woman should know how to treat her man" in the first place, what does this really mean? What kind of man says this?

This person is currently in jail for this crime. I'm just trying to understand what kind of man would do/say this?

he sounds like a real nasty guy the only reason a man should hit a women is in self defense
so where yo pointing a gun at his head
did you try to kill him No oh OK then he is wrong
the reason why he is blaming you is because he doesn't want to deal with his temper and he doesn't wanna take responsibility for his actions
what a weak man he cant even answer for how he acts wow he sounds like a real jerk

Obviously this type of man has control issues. He needs to control the relationship and this woman because he is not able to control certain other aspects of his life. He also has a feeling of inadequacy, hates rejection and feels that he will never be good enough. I wouldn't be surprised to find that he has suffered abuse and belittlement in his past at the hands of one of his parents, or has a very bad relationship if any with his mother. I would suggest for any woman to steer clear from this guy, or get away while she can. It will only get worse.

Girl get out of the relationship before it goes any further, He is not worth waiting around on. He will never change. Guys hitting women, women hitting guys. Any kind of domestic relationships will wind up either dead or something. If you don't get out now, you will be on your knees begging him to stop. so please please get out while you can. That **** is for the birds. That is abuse. He wants you to jump when he snaps his fingers. He wants you to drop whatever you are doing and wait on him hand and foot. no matter what you are doing. I was in the same type of relationship. Don't fall for anything and DON'T FALL FOR THE I AM SORRY IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN CRAP NEITHER. THAT IS HIS WAY OF WORKING YOU DOWN AND MAKING YOU BELIEVE EVERYTHING IS YOUR FAULT. The tv could be acting up who do you think he will blame? Think about it. Good Luck

It's assault and that's a crime and it deserves a stiff jail sentence - minumum twelve years. If he does permanent injury, twenty-five years with no chance of early release.
