As a mid forty-something I was taught manners. I always smile or say hello when I walk the dog. Most people don't acknowledge my friendliness. It is common courtesy to at least acknowledge this simple gesture. Are we a country afraid to be polite?

I have pretty good skin but I'm wanting to start taking better care of it now while I am still fairly young. I can't afford to run out and buy a $40 bottle of moisturizer but I'd like to add one to my daily routine. Does anyone know of a good one for normal to slightly oily skin?

•Sadam Hussein was accused of possessing weapons of mass destruction but he did not.
•He was accused of having a link with al-Qaeda but he never had.
•He was accused of plotting an attack on America but he actually offered to make friends with USA. President Bush refused or rather afraid to meet him.
•His removal from power by force has caused so much destruction in Iraq that America and Britain are solely responsible for the holocaust in that country! They are also responsible for its complete reconstruction.
•The trial of Sadam should end forthwith and he should be set free immediately.
• In fact, if he is given a second chance to assume power, he would be able to bring back normalcy in Iraq within one month!

I am glad we had a strong Republican leader like GWB in office during this perilous time.
Clinton or Carter NEVER would have stood up to terror. They are sissy girly-men who do not/did not have the guts to stand up to threats to our country.
Reagan could have handled it too.

2 months ago I corresponded with and met someone on the personals. He just placed the ad because he was looking for friends. But, instead we talk and find that we have a GREAT deal in common and like each other alot. However, his divorce was final only 3 months ago and he's (understandably) not ready to commit to a relationship. I'm "seeing other people" but I am curious what the consensus of the group would be regarding how long to keep the "possibility open" especially if you have been through this before. The match is too good for "just dump him altogether" advice, we both agree on that much. If you have been through a nasty divorce, how long was it before you felt really open to finding someone else? Has anybody else been in my shoes before and seen it work? How? Thanks...

Don't suggest self-eployment and freelance please - I know how pressured and unfree they can be. I am wondering if anyone has a 'common' job and manages to express himself/herself in it.. Or is every job mindnumbing?
