It depends on what the two of you established. Are you dating exclusively? then you should NOT hand out your number, but if you are dating and have no commitments and can see others then giving out your number is fine.

...well that depends on whether its an exclusive relationship or not and I guess it might also depend on whether or not you are thinking of ending said relationship...But if you are not ending it and you love this person, then I would think giving another your phone number would be asking for trouble, unless said "new" person is to be just a friend.. There is nothing wrong with having members of the opposite sex as friends, but then again, who are we kidding here? In any case, if you are thinking of giving your number out, to someone whom you might become interested in, it is always better not to be attached at the time. And if you are worried about breaking up with your present relationship before anything comes from this new one, then your not being fair to either and should think about staying single for awhile till you know what and who it is that you do want...Do unto others as you would have them do to you...Know what I mean?

Bad idea, you are obviously not commited to the relationship that you are in now. When you love someone enough this type a question would never be any type of concern. You would have no desire at all to take or give a number. You are better off single.

Depends on if you have decided your current relationship is completely devoted and monogamous. If you are in a long term relationship but are not married, I say yes--you need to know what is out there but be prepared to deal with the outcome, as long as its conversation and nothing else you have not been unfaithful if your loved one finds out and gives you a hard time. Ultimately you may lose them, and you have to decide if you are ok with that.

depends on a lot of things?
is the relationship exclusive?
Why are you giving out your number?

If the relationship is open and non-exclusive, than give away. If you are giving away your number for reasons other than dating (like someone wants to join your volleyball team, or they want to buy your old TV or something) than give away...

Ask yourself this, if my current partner was at my house, and my phone rang, what would I do... This was on a British TV series "Coupling". It made for good comedy on TV, but doesn't sound so funny when applied to real life.

I would only if I felt that my current relationship wasn't really going anywhere.

That's a question to ask the person that you are currently dating.
