I agree with the tomato juice answer. I remember people using that when I was a child and it always worked. And it shouldn't hurt the poor dog. There is a product called Odo-Ban (I have seen it at Sam's Club and Wal-Mart). This works wonders on odors. I know it will be great for the house. It can be used on fabrics so it may be able to work for the dog. Read the label first to make sure it is safe for the dog.
Good luck. Isn't that the worst smell?

I had a white dog (Samoyed) who loved to play with skunks, but the skunks did not want to play with him.
I bathed him and washed him in tomato juice three times in one week.
For the rest of the summer, I had a large pink dog.

There are a number of "home" remedies. Most involving tomato juice, as many have already mentioned.
There are also a number of special products, targeted for skunk-oder removal. They come in various forms (shampoo, spray, etc..)

Bathe dog in tomato juice. Outside of the house... you'll probably just need to wait for it to dissipate.
