One doesn't know if a person is born gay or not. But I do know that many people have always been Gay and they have to hide it because of people like you that calls them queer. As long as they act proper and do their own thing, why should it bother you?

Although I've never been intimate with another woman and I'm married to a man with whom I've loved for 17 yrs..... I would still consider myself gay/lesbian, only because I love all people and can find people of different sexes and/or races attractive and if I were single, I'd consider a relationship with anyone who has a good heart and that I have an attraction to.
I decided to marry a person who loved me for me. He is loving, compassionate, and attractive.((to name a few good qualities)) That is why I chose to spend my life with him and start a family with him. It has nothing to do with gender.

I am heterosexual, but I'm just posting because I know the answer to this one. Homosexuality is not based ENTIRELY on genetics (although genetics does play a part), but the time when experience comes in and finally determines sexual orientation is at a very young age, too young for the kid to understand sexuality. In other words, no one actually chooses to be gay.

It is not a choice.....people who are "Gay" did not choose to be discriminated against. We did not choose to be forced to hide in certain situations...we did not choose to sometimes have to lead a double life to do what we love (carreer wise)....it is not a choice, please stop the ignorance and educate!!

Sorry, ladies and gentlemen but whether a person is homosexual or not has NOTHING to do with genetics or nurture. There are a plethora of websites that will tell you that will explain this "fact of life" to you if you care enough to LOOK.

Can you remember the exact day, hour, and minute you chose to be heterosexual? I can't, because I was born with a predisposition to heterosexuality, as were our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters born with a predisposition to homosexuality.

I only had the option to act (or not) on my preferences. I made no conscious decision to determine what my preferences would be.

Sexual orientation has been consider something established at birth for over 30 years. Currently there are five recognized orientations:
Attraction to the opposite sex;
Attraction to the same sex;
Attraction to animals;
Attraction to children; and
No sexual attraction at all.
All require a choice to act on the feelings, or lack there of, being generated. You still have the feelings, but you don't have to act on them, even as regards heterosexuals, as in the case of priests or vested virgins.
In case you're scratching your head, vested virgins are found in cultures that do not have a word in their language that translates as homosexual.
