Recently I attended a birthday party, and the mother of the boy, removed his name from the birthday cake prior to cutting the cake. When asked why, all she said was "the ladies at the office do it"....when pressed for a real answer, she seemed upset.
So, other than the obvious "follower" comment, has anyone any clue as to the meaning of this ??? Where did it come from? Whats the meaning and or purpose?

I read a very famous Islamic book (Badi'e Al Fawa'id by Muhammed Ibn Abu Bakr), which was re-published in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in 1996. In that book I found a Fatwa that looks too weird to me. This Fatwa gives a permission for Muslim men to have concubines (female slaves) and to have sex with them regardless of their age. Is there any Muslim to comment on this Fatwa?

I would commute to Oak Brook everyday and live in Oak Park. I think I would still have good city access with the public transportation from what I understand. I would like to live downtown, but I think the commute would probably be way too long???

I've had a really really crap year, we had a miscarriage 2 months ago and then my grandma died(and i was present whilst she was very poorly in hospital and there pretty much till the end), were in the process of moving house due to needing a bigger house for when we get pregnant again and because we have the worst neighbours on this earth i'm sure(parties, total scumbags in general). My sis just found out she was pregnant and had to make a hard decision to have it aborted but there was no support there from the partner and my best friend is pregnant by just over 2 months, which i found out not so long ago. I feel ok sometimes but then i sink into feeling very low and down. I'm happy for my friend but deep down it makes me very sad and i feel guilty for feeling sad that its not me anymore. I keep thinkin i'll feel better soon but then go down again...help! do i need to see someone or just need time?
