I realize that "rapture" is a term invented by Darby only very recently. However, 1 Thessalonians 4:17 seems to me to be saying that something very much like what Darby called "rapture" will occur.

"Then we who are living, who are left remaining, will be caught up together with them [those who had died] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we will be always with the Lord."

How is this verse interpreted by those who do not believe in the rapture?

I just read about a woman who was killed by an ex who was stalking her. She knew it, her friends knew it and the police knew it. He still got her. Busted down the kitched door and killed her. I'm always a little baffled and alot horrified by these strories. Did she have loaded firearms in the house and access to them and the knowledge and commitment to use them? I don't think that I could kill an animal needlessly but I could definately defend myself if I needed to. I'm not wild about gun training and it's boring but I go out with my husband several times a year to make sure that I know how to safely handle one in an emergency. Why are people so afraid of guns and why would they vote away there rights to bear firearms?

I saw my OB/GYN today...She said I am dilated 3, 70% effaced...I also saw her this past Tuesday and I was dilated 2..50% effaced..Does anyone think if I do some serious wakling this evening, it will help me to go into full blown labor? I have been having contractions, and period type cramping...I am SOOO over all this mess, I just want to have her already! Any other suggestions welcome
