Lets say a adults and c children went.
then a + c = 23

also, 11a is the ticket sales from adults and 10c is the ticket sales from childern
so, 11a + 10c = 246

solve both equations and you get 16 adults and 7 children.

Let the number of adults=x
and number of children =y
Therefore x+y = 23.........................i
As per given statement,
11x +10 y = 246..............ii
Multiply i by 11 we get
11x +11y =253..............iii
Now subtract ii from iii
y = 7.......................iv
From i and iv, we get
x = 16......................v
Therefore adults=16 and children=7
