OK, so maybe I didn't add enough detail... if a point source of light (lets say a galaxy far, far away..pun intended) contains X photons/sec that are directed toward our own planlet, based on the distance (beyond 13 billion light years just for fun, imagine a shpere 13billion light years in radius and our planet as a single point on the sphere) and potential interference of matter (possibility of hitting a dust paricle etc. 0.00001% no idea on if this is in the ball park) how many photons /sec must be generated by the point source in order for us to detect that source today (given a collection/viewing time of 10 min with a 10meter lens)? in other words what is the required "density" ( yes I know the term is not correct) of light in order for us to detect the source? and the big one... how far away can a point source be and still be detected by our telescopes?

Christians and Muslims, dont try to pretend you're Atheist just to make us look bad

Christians and Muslims, I'm not talking about Christians or Muslims that claim to be former Atheist because you are liars and most of your answers are bias

Christians and Muslims, dont tell Atheists how they feel because you're not an Athest

IF YOU CURRENTLY BELIEVE IN GOD, THIS QUESTION IS NOT FOR YOU. PLEASE DONT LIE

I used to work as a nursing assistant on the midnight shift. On my off days, I would wake up hearing call lights going off. I have not worked in a nursing home for about 3 years. I still occasionally hear the buzzing of the lights. Wondering if its a sign or something to get back into working as a nursing assistant or anything that has to do with working with elderly folks.

We've opened it for two days so far, and the returns have been very disappointing. Our problem seems to be that we find it difficult to attract customers to our little kiosk. We've asked some friends to look at our cart, and all agree that our kiosk is very attractive and well-decorated... Any tips on attracting eyeballs/attention?

I am one of the LUCKIEST PEOPLE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH for many reasons, but one of the most obvious is the vehicle I was blessed with -- a bright-red 4-door 2002 Cavalier coupe, the COOLEST CAR IN THE WORLD! I LOVE my Cavy with a capitol "L" because it's the epitome of everything a car should be -- beautiful, comfortable, and fuel efficient! In fact, I pity the millions not fortunate enough to be driving one since to me, there are 3 types of automobiles: 1. Cavaliers (Chevy or Toyota), 2. Non-Cavaliers (all others unlike it), & 3. Cavalier-Wanna-Be's (Pontiac Sunfire, Ford Escort, etc.). However, as enamored as I am with the Chevy Cavalier, it seems the company did not share my belief -- they discontinued it last year for an ugly piece of junk called a Cobalt! Why would they stop making the car that should be featured in the dictionary by the word "automobile" because it's the model of everything a car should be? And why do they not even make toy ones? Can you see what I see in it?

I have recently changed jobs. I have a 401k account with my old employer, and now have another with my new employer. I would like to roll-over the money from my old IRA account to a traditional IRA. Can I do this without penalty while still contributing to my new 401K account?

My husband and I were discussing this and we could not come up with a single woman to include on a "top 100" list. I think this is partly because of the discrimination women faced throughought American History, but I don't know if this is the whole answer.

We considered people like Gloria Steinheim and Susan B. Anthony, but they didn't make the cut. We also looked at women such as Abigail Adams and Martha Washington, but their contributions were in support roles.

The top 100 list would probably feature people in Politics (heavy emphasis on Presidents), business, science, and inventions. "Lifestyle" personalities such as actors and athletes probably wouldn't make the list unless they crossed real barriers.

This is something we've been tossing around for a few days and I thought I'd open it up to the Yahoo! Answers community.
