We've opened it for two days so far, and the returns have been very disappointing. Our problem seems to be that we find it difficult to attract customers to our little kiosk. We've asked some friends to look at our cart, and all agree that our kiosk is very attractive and well-decorated... Any tips on attracting eyeballs/attention?

How to Attract More Traffic to Your Cart or Kiosk

"... MOTION Attracts Eyeballs... "

Adding MOTION to any cart or kiosk will cause more
people to at least LOOK at what you've got.

A certain percentage of those that look, will STOP.

And a certain percentage of THOSE, will BUY!

***
There are a number of ways that you can create
MOTION on your cart.

One way is through a VISUAL DEMONSTRATION
of your product.

If you don't have an item currently that is conducive
to demostration... with the mall's permission, you may
want to add one that targets the same customer as
your jewelry.

You'll sell that item AND more of your jewelry.

***
Another way to create MOTION is with ACTIVITY,
sometimes accomplished by building a crowd.

A great way to do this is by offering some sort
of service.

For example, perhaps you offer a "FREE 30-Second
Fashion Consultation".

You pick out three of your items that best match
your customers features. Then offer them a deal if
they purchase any two of them.

Promote this heavily with a sign in order to 'jump-start'
your traffic. Make no mistake though, the real benefit
will come when the crowd starts to draw them in!

***
Use a PROP to create MOTION.

I have used a prop on my carts that works so well,
that I call it the 'Instant Traffic Attracter'. You can
see it here:

I have tried other props to add motion, but nothing
has ever worked as well as this!

A few ideas:

1) Flyers & Business Cards - Who are your customers & where do they shop (e.g. grocery, clothing stores, etc)? Post flyers where your customers frequent.

2) Advertise Locally -- Newspapers, Craigslist, Yahoo! Local

3) Word of Mouth -- Offer a great service & people will talk.

4) Mailers -- Send out coupons, specials, etc.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Add free ring cleaning or inspection service. Also you could have customers "trade-in" something they already have towards the purchase of something else. Jewlery has a large markup. You could also include a free rose or something with every purchase.

That only works in malls in the less 'artistic' neighborhoods.

Don't overcharge. Advertise. Have patience.
