Language or perception, take your pick. They evolve simultaneously, so it's hard to decide. How about this: You get identity from mirrors- some of the most significant ones being your loved one's eyes. However, the reflection adds a little something- does it not? An enhanced vision. Someone who has a different perspective on "you." If there was no distinction, no one would be drawn to anyone- ever. It's how you are both yourself ( a single entity), as well as a part of everything else.

How are you not another?

When you do something who decides it? When you think or imagine, who does it? Where in the world or in mind can you go where absolutely no one else can be with you or influence you. Where is that place where self is?

If you're into "How do I not know if I'm someone else's dream or in the matrix or...?" then I guess we're all screwed. But other than that you can simply OBSERVE life and WITNESS who is in control or where self is.

I think you're you and not anyone else. I think you wrote this question. But then again, you may have been forced at gunpoint.

The question," Who Am I" is a question that divides us from each other. We are never isolated. We are always a being that includes other people. Take your mother for example. Are you ever an "I" without your mother? No. you are only a we. We define each other.
No, who are we is the question? Within this answer is choices to make for our future.

You become yourself when you actually do the things you "KNOW" you should do! rather than waisting time trying to influence others. If you were me... I would be you and there would be no reason for your question. Your question exists because consciousness is trying to evolve.

You can never do something that has not ben dun before given infinity. We are the way we are because of something and nothing, trying to end each other.

Look Andy, stop drinking and look in the mirror. You will see your self, and remember the agony your mother went through to deliver you. That answers your question.

Because you have different parents, were brought up somewhere else, had different life experiences and react to things in your own way. That's what makes you, you and me, me. I'm glad I could clear things up for you.
