I have to agree that the Cavalier was a very cool car - and safe, too. My daughter was a passenger in a 1999 Cav that rolled over several times in the middle of a busy freeway, coming to rest against the brick wall on the shoulder, and thank God, all four occupants of the car climbed out with nothing but scrapes and bruises. She owned one for a short time, but sold out for a Corolla, which she later rolled herself. She crawled out of that one too with minor cuts and bruises. I think she is wrapped in God's hands.

I bought a 93 Cavalier in 95 back when I was young and broke...(wait, I'm still broke, but at least now I can afford oil changes). That car plowed through the snow, handled great on the ice and I never had one thing go wrong with it in the 5 years I owned it...and it went forever without any oil changes. Had it not been for it being totalled, I would have driven that thing into the ground, if at all possible!

I had a '93 z24 with the v6 and 5spd. That car kicked some serious ***. Looked cool, was powerful, sounded good. Unfortunately, it was not very realiable. Had electrical issues, stuttering problems, very rough idle, and chevy kept saying they couldnt find anything wrong with it. I wound up trading it in for a new tracker suv (a dark day in my life of cars, but thats another story). These days, look at the Chevy Cobalt-it is the current and vastly improved incarnation of the cavalier. You can get a supercharged SS model for like 20k.

ok. my bf owns one n has the worse trouble with it. he drives a Z24. the poor kid has had to replace the engine twice n the timing chain. Chevy isnt the greatest or the most reliable car company around. u want a good car that should go under the dictionary word "automobile" how bout u look at Honda's preferable the Civic. get a clue n a life. Cavaliers arent the greatest thing n its a good thing they were discontinued.

Iris, Honey, have you been to see a doctor about this obsession? Have you never sat behind the wheel of any old muscle car, pony car, sports car. My mustang was hit while parked, frame broken, and you still couldn't catch it. The Cavalier was discontinued because there was only you who loved the unfortunate Recall wagon. It had more recalls in it's lifetime than any other make of car in the western hemisphere. lol. Just joking. They are comfortable, and fuel efficient. I have to say no to the beautiful part though. Just a matter of taste.

I agree with you 100%. My Cavalier has 131,000 miles on it and I've never had a major problem. My understanding is that for Chevy, it has been the worst car ever....meaning it runs well forever AND NEVER REQUIRES SERVICE....hence thay are losing money when somebody buys a Cavalier. What a crock, huh?

The Cavalier had it's place in the car food chain, to be affordable and fuel efficient. It's time has past. Let it go.

Iris, babygirl, what's up? Remember me, the guy with the rhyming name that usually agrees with you? Well, this time I have to disagree. I think my big, blue Dodge Hemi is the coolest, but that's only cuz I'm a guy and we like our big, Texas-sized pickups. But for a chic, I think a Cavy is cute -- especially red ones! Maybe someday I can take you to a big, empty parking lot so you can try out the power of a REAL engine!
