I have tried various techniques to feed my daughter, she is 7mts old and has always been fussy. Now i am feeding her formula with a spoon but it gets difficult beacuse i do it after her bath, put her in her high chair which she is not too happy being in as she is so sleepy, the bottle is a task and she gets upset if I try to feed it to her. I try to add an oz in her veggies just so she gets extra milk
Her total in a day including cereal is barely 17oz which the pediatrician thinks is fine
I am taking her for a weight chk next week
She is happy and active otherwise
Not sitting yet without support
has stage 2 jar of veggies and a fruit in a day as well

We had "no doubt that Saddaam Hussein had started his nuclear program," even though he was not posing an immediate threat to us and that intelligence was later proven to be faulty. We were told that there was proof of him having nuclear weopons and was planning to use them. Thus, we invaded and overthrew him and his regime.
North Korea has shown us the weopons, pointed them at us, and fired some in our direction. We have undeniable proof that Kim Jong Il has every intention of using them to some capacity. But now, we are going to handle this diplomatically. Why is it when we have seen the weapons in use and know North Korea's intent, we don't do anything, but when we are not provoked, we attack?
I am genuinely confused by this. I'm not saying we should go and start bombing them, but this tactic is just "bass ackward" as they say. Does anyone have an opinion on this matter?
I know I'm going to be criticized, so bring it on.

My brother says she has always been a night owl, but my neice is staying with me for part of her summer vacation and I'm worried about how tired she is. She goes to bed and then I find out that she was up half the night reading because she "can't sleep". Then she sleep in during the day and is cranky when she does get up. Is there any kind of safe, natural sleep aid I could give her to help her fall asleep? She's almost as tall as I am and weighs about 5-10 lbs more than I do (so she's almost adult sized). Her parents told me that they give her benadryl sometimes, but I am not comfortable with that. :(

My cousin, who is oging into 6th grade, just found out her grandmother is in the hospital from kidney failure, or an absess on the pancreas or something etc. There is nothing the doctors can do. The doctors say she is too fragile to move to ICU. Both my cousin and her brother are at camp, and she is near hysteria, in tears and everything. I have sent her an e-mail saying how much I love her and how I'm praying for her, but I want to do something more. How can I console her?

I know a lot of laws have been made to protect children from child abuse, but it really has made it hard for parents to raise their children. Sometimes words or threats of punishment aren't enough to make a child understand. With a lot of laws out today parents are afraid to discipline their kids with a good ol fashion spanking. In some cases when a parent spanks the kid or smacks em, not hard enough to leave a bruise or mark of course, child services has come in and done investigations. This is why a lot of parents try and try but can't get through to kids because they feel like they can't smack or spank them without having child services on them. What do you think?
