Do you ever worry that even with all the love and devotion and hard work that you put into raising your children that you are somehow messing it up? We have 7 awesome children and sometimes I worry that although we are trying to raise them to be kind, caring, responsible, educated, respectful people that I am somehow doing it wrong. Do any of you have the same worry?

No historian or theologian of any kind believes that the Jesus story is true. Rather, it is the result of the coming together of a collection of myths and legends that have been about for 1000's of years.
Yet, despite this, we have the likes of Bush and Blair bashing their bibles and its quite a strange thing. How can so-called normal people live their lives according to a story that has about as much grounding in historical fact as an episode of Star Trek?

I believe some people are lucky and have things go their way and some are just plain unlucky. That would be me to some extent. No matter what I plan, something always happens that I haven't accounted for. It has reached the point of being rediculous but I have learned to live with it and now find it more humerous (Occasionally) rather than annoying.
Here are two cases in Point.
1:I had planned a week visiting NYC starting on the day of 9-11. I was on a bus trying to get into Manhatten when they closed it off because of the attack. I landed up being Stuck in CT for week.
2: I was on hoilday in Thailand when the Tsunami struck. Fortunately the island I was on was not hit but everyone was telling me to leave and go back to South Africa.
These are only two examples but a defenite pattern in my life. Do you think that I bring it on or will my luck change. Should I be locked away :-)

there are many different tastes depending on that individual. and also the definition of "good looks" are different depending on the gender. I dont think there is a "correct" or "best" answer for this question. I just want to see what different people see.

I live in the SF bay area, California. I have a tree-filled corner in the west side of my yard which only gets filtered sunlight, if any at all. The soil gets waterlogged every winter. I also have a dog, so plants that can tolerate a little foot traffic would be great too.
Would Lily of the Valley work here? I would love something that is green and attractive all year round, possibly with flowers. Right now, I only have a mini Japanese rock garden there, so something that would go with that theme would be even better. Am I asking for too much?
