They don't HAVE to, they just do so that they can fit in and get invited to parties and other social events... Also, if they don't follow trends then they get made fun of, so it's kind of an insurance policy.

Sometimes, it is teenagers that set the trends....ask any marketing executive. It takes a lot of courage to stand out from a crowd. The answer is"No" they don't have to...but often do to fit in or feel a sense of belonging to something bigger than themselves. Too many young people are out there on their own without any real guidance from someone they can relate to or look up to.

Just like the sparrows to Capistrano, teenagers will follow trends. Even if they are counter culture trends, they are trends none the less.

No, but if they dont, it's hard for them in school. Sadly, Most teenagers who buck the trends get picked on rather than applauded for their uniqueness.

I think they must, because they sure do! When I was young, I had to have levi's bell bottoms and waffle stompers! nowadays the kids must have multiple peircings and lower back tattoos.

following trends is nt neccessary its jst dat whatever u wear shud make u feel good n comfortabl...in quest of lookin trendy people end up lookin like a fashion victim..jst wear what truly reflects u n nt wat d elite models wore d othr nite...so its all about feeling great in whatever u wear.
