I'm a Japanese woman, and English is my second language. I saw a movie called "Hoosiers." I really liked the movie, but there are some lines I don't understand due to my inability to understand English. (Q1) What does"I'll personally hide strap your *** to a pine rail and send you up the Monon Line." mean? Is that [1]beat him up, [2]tie him up to a pine bar, [3]bring him to a railroad, and [4]kill him?(Q2)Dennis Hopper talks about basketball game, and what does "Run you off the boards" mean? (Q3)Again Dennis Hopper preaches to Gene Hackman about basketball game; "No drives twelve foot in" what does that mean? (Q4) Dennis Hopper says to his players, "don't get caught watching the paint dry." I have no idea what he meant. I'd really appreciate if someone answers to the above 4 questions. Thank you.

I'm trying to get an idea of how to get into teaching college without the obvious Ph.D. I plan on going for Ph.D., but not at this time. I'm wondering if I should just start by teaching children and then move on to college when I go back to Ph.D?

It was actually introduced long before. Sin first infested the earth when the satanic rebellion against God erupted throughout the universe. After God judged the devil and his fallen hordes, satan obviously appealed the sentence. God graciously granted his appeal, as demonstrated by the elapse of time between the sentencing and its fulfillment. Then God created the human race endowed with volition. Through volition the human race would determine the outcome of the angelic conflict and man's destiny.

I'm 27, blonde, blue-eyed, and planning to explore Central America and the Caribbean next year. I'm wanting to go by myself, and plan to research the hell out of where I'm going and learn basic Spanish, but wondered if you had any thoughts or feedback about travelling as a single gal? I'm sticking to the relatively safe spots...starting in Costa Rica, then heading up to Cuba and then Belize. Any things I should definitely do (and not do) beyond the obvious common sense? Suggestions for timing? Thank you so much!

Wikipedia article on Pat Robertson

Claims about the power of his prayers

Robertson claims to have used the power of prayer to steer hurricanes away from his companies' Virginia Beach, Virginia, headquarters. He took credit for steering the course in 1985 of Hurricane Gloria, which caused millions of dollars of destruction in many states along the U.S. east coast. He made a similar claim about another destructive storm, Hurricane Felix, in 1995.[8]

In 2003, Robertson called on God to prevent Hurricane Isabel from hitting Virginia Beach (which it eventually hit). In 2005, Robertson launched Operation Supreme Court Freedom, a televised nationwide 21-day prayer campaign asking people to pray for vacancies on the Supreme Court, where "black-robed tyrants have pushed a radical agenda." Robertson declared that "God heard those prayers"[9], after the announced resignation of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

Is it true that "in love" for women means "romantic love" and for men it means "intense need to mate" with a particular woman? Do men really just play along with what women want to hear..."I love you so much too" etc? Or do men really go googoo gaga and soapy and all when they really fall in love?

A teacher decides that she is going to teach her second grade class a
new word today. She tells them that the word is "definitely" and its
meaning is "absolute, positive, without a doubt."

She asks the class if anyone can think of a sentence with the word in
it. She calls on little Susan who is in the back raising her hand,
quite sure of herself.

Susan stands up and says, "The sky is definitely blue."

The teacher replies to her, "Well, that's a good sentence but
sometimes the sky is gray, and sometimes its cloudy, and sometimes
its red and pink so the sky is not definitely blue. Anyone else?"

Tom's hand flies up and she calls on him.

Tom answers, "The water is definitely clear."

"Well, Tom that's a good sentence but sometimes the water is muddy,
and sometimes it's green, and sometimes it's full of seaweed so it's
not definitely clear. Anyone else?"

Finally, in the far corner, little Robert s
