Is it true that "in love" for women means "romantic love" and for men it means "intense need to mate" with a particular woman? Do men really just play along with what women want to hear..."I love you so much too" etc? Or do men really go googoo gaga and soapy and all when they really fall in love?

Even though they may try to hide and/or deny it, men are just as susceptible to the "stirrings of the heart" as we women are.

Funny how all the answers are by women so far...and I will continue this trend! My boy and I have recently fallen in love, and I know that when he says it, he means it. I guess some men do just play along, but if you are just playing along, then it's not really love. In my experience, some men would rather just play along than get into the trouble of extracting themselves from something they aren't happy with...
True it does seem like women are more inclined to be mushy and googoo gaga, but I think every man and woman has that ability in them...it just depends on how much you let others see...men are conditioned to hide those feelings. It's very easy on the other hand, to express an "intense need to mate" and a bit of an easier option sometimes...

I think some men can fall in love and when they do, it's for their entire lives. It doesn't matter how old they are, either. It's just a matter of being in the right place at the right time with the right person. However, you are correct that lust is far more important than anything to men, in general. They all have it and even a man who is truly in love with someone will 'cheat' as he needs that physical need fulfilled. It truly doesn't mean that he doesn't love the woman he loves. It is just a physical requirement usually caused by separation from the object of his love. If women could just accept that fact, there'd be a lot less divorce. It'll never happen, though. Another thing is that there are men who will NEVER fall in love because their lust really is greater than their frail minds can handle. They can't get past their erect penises to see a woman's other qualities, so it can't happen. Too bad.

Ok so, we do fall in love. But you have to understand that men and women do fall in love differently and at a different time... unless your extremely lucky. The intense need to mate is stereotypical, even tho its pretty close to right on us men do fall in love and we can show. Just dont take anything too wrong and during the time, dont blow things out of proportion... ahhemm ladies... this is what makes us go crazy. We end up doing something wrong but we have no idea what in the h3ll we did, then the next day everything is ok... its a mind f0ck.

Like most of the questions here, we must all keep in mind that we are all different. How you explain man verses woman, well it works both ways for both.
I am not coming down on your for asking mind you, but only to advice you that although the world separates men and women that does not mean it is right to do so. It would be wrong to say all men or all women on any subject or situation because we all are indeed different in many ways. That is what makes life so interesting.

well i think men just fall in love for one thing only u no what that is well guess what i will tell u why they love to use this nice loveing caring hearted women our here for there money and every thing eles some men fall in love but u have to find that right one thoe to treat u like a women and thats the way u should be treating like a women and with respct and much more thats all i can give right now ans say i hope that can help u out if i new more trust me i would tell u sweet heart love always valerie

Men and women can say thing like " I love you " to get what they want. But I have seen some men who would go thru fire, and the deepest waters to get to the one they love. One would cry his eyes out, and beg to be taken back with her.
So Hollywood not the only ones to have males doing soapy love thing on film. Men can fall in love, and go stir crazy over a woman. Their hearts can break and hurt , like ours do when we been dump. For some men, it takes longer for them show their mushy love side.

first, it depends on the guy... some men just want what any man probably wants... "every guy wants to" as my ex said.
but then you'll find someone when the time comes, who you can really open up to and you'll know for sure that he loves you.
no, they don't go all gaga and soapy [if they do, i'd consider questioning thier orientation..] but they show you in their simply "manly" ways.. like when you're down, they make you laugh and stuff like that.

Most of the guys are just play arounders and they just want **** from girls.But when they do really fall in love and get feelings,,they get freaked out and either break up or love that girl all the wayyyyyy and sometimess they stop showing their feelings to you..they are just too dumbb to understand that a freakin loves him offf andd shows all her feelings and cares about him and she freakin wantss the samee from him too.
