Scientists say the temperature of Earth's surface has risen 1 degree over the past 400 years. Caused by man made pollutants resulting in things like, Al Niño that caused disastrous effects on the fishing industry in California; more powerful hurricanes like Katrina that destroyed an entire city; fierce, uncontrollable wild fires that are destroying our forests as seen in the San Berdino area; the destruction of the ozone layer allowing dangerous radiation to enter through our atmosphere.
Scientist are justifiably alarmed. Yet our politicians say that increasing guidelines on pollution would cost the American people millions of jobs.
This is my concern; If global warming is caused by the release of pollutiants like carbon dioxide, florons, etc. What are the results of cities and forests being destroyed or the industrialization of cChina? Do they not release an unprecedent amouunt of toxins? If one degree has caused this.. Is it not concievable that it will quickly escalate?

I have the best dog! I've had him since he was six weeks and only one time in his twenty months of life has he had an accident in my home. He is incredibly loyal to me, he was sooo easy to train i.e. lay down, sit etc., but the one problem I have with him is that he has gotten that "taste" for freedom. He has always been an indoor dog, but July fourth of last year, the fireworks terrified him and he bolted. It took two hours to find him and he wasn't but two houses away, but I think that was the catalyst to a disaster. Since then, he has tried to or succeeded to squeeze under our fence to go romp in the woods. He always came back within 15 min. or so. One day, in Feb., he didn't come back. He got caught by the dog cops! $250 later, we got a neutered, scared and microchipped dog. He's been pretty calm since until about a month ago. We have altered our fence every way possible! He STILL gets out. He's been gone today since 11am. I've confirmed that he has not been caught, and I've ......

I'm 14 years old and I've been making myself sick after meals for the past 2 years. Sometimes I starve myself, and then if I have to eat I'll make myself sick. Other times I'll totally pig out and eat family size packs of crisps and huge bars of chocolate etc then make myself sick to get rid of the calories.

I was quite fat when I was 12, my mum always went on about my weight and how fat I was all the time, any time I was going out with my friends she'd comment on how fat I looked in certain clothes. So I started starving myself and making myself sick to lose weight.

Now I'm not fat anymore but I'm terrified of gaining weight and I can't stop what I'm doing.

But I went to the dentist today and he said I have cavities in practically all of my teeth and he asked me if I had an eating disorder - I tried to deny it but he said he could tell because of my teeth. Now I'm scared he'll tell my mum, and even if he doesn't, I'm going to have to explain how I got all the cavities...help!

That's a question asked by everyone who is in pain; it is also asked by people who are confused, who lost loved ones, etc. Then, if a God's Servant shouldn't suffer, why did Job endured so much loss and pain?

Is it fair for smokers to do so near other people, now that it has been shown that secondhand smoke is extremely harmful? Especially in cases when the smoker is a parent, and smokes near their children- the child doesn't have a choice in the matter, even though their life is being endangered.

Please don't give me a bunch of dumbarse responses involving incidents where nonsmokers did something worse than smokers. I want answers that have something to do with the question.

My argument is: DNA is not merely a molecule with a pattern; it is a code, a language and an information storage mechanism. All codes are created by a conscience min d; there is no natural process known to science that creates coded mesages. Anyone agree with me?

Well I've been pessimist all my life and I was fine with that. 5 years ago I've met a girl and we lived together until she left 2 years ago. Since then my life went down the drain. I think I am obsessed with her and keep on trying to win her back when even I know that's impossible. I tried anti-depressants, another girls, church going, new friends etc. Few weeks ago my dad passed away and instead of thinking about him I keep thinking about her all the time. My life looks so dark that I just listen to sad songs and think about suicide. Is there any other way? Or my life is already gone?
