I can't get the blooming thing to do anything at all. But my wife has great success with it! She doesn't even need the little glass thingy, just uses her hand. I know there is some outside force working it (she couldn't possibly spell out the words as quickly as the board does). It says the silliest things! Pretty cool. We have used it for several years without EVER feeling threatened by it, or out of control. We find it to be full of great wisdom, often philosophical. I suppose you could find darkness and danger in the Ouija if you were seeking it. We never have and it doesn't seem to come looking for us either.
I'd recommend trying it before condemning it. If you don't like what it is doing, discard it.

I think they are a good divination tool that has turned into nothing but a toy for 'occult' interested teens - I don't believe in ghosts as in dead people walking about, more complicated than that, so I do view ouija boards as something more than a toy.
I actually did a big interview for a magazine on this a few years ago - possibly Marie-Claire, believe it or not, I think people are very shocked at the idea that it can be used for divination and that not all of us believe we are speaking to the dead but can come up with logical explanations!

I think quija boards are of the devil or some form of demonic force! To me it's like voo-doo or something. It's a mind over matter thing if you ask me. It's like black magic. I have never played with one for the above reasons.

I do not think it is a game to be toyed with. I have seen too many times when family members and friends got answers and messages. I am an atheist and a skeptic but we do not understand everything about the universe yet, nor do we understand the tremendous power of our own minds. We haven't made a dent in the study of communication. Who knows?

I wouldn't advise them at all , not that they are gateways to any nasty spirits or invite unwanted guests , but they are a gateway to your own fears and as such can manifest your fears in such a way that what may appear to be an evil spirit may be felt
its a well known fact that our own energy can produce the most amazing phenomena and we very much underestimate our own minds
whatever the case .. don't mess about with something you know nothing of

Quija boards are very dangerous! They can be invites to unwanted guests. If you must use one do not do it in your house unless you want a permanent nasty guest...I know alot of ppl do not believe in their ability, but i have seen them work first hand.

They're not a good thing to play with at any age, you never know what can come out of them. When talking to a spirit, you may get a "bad" entity, which can cause problems in your household, and in your life in general.
If you still insist on using one, make sure to Cast a Circle, so that if a spirit comes, it is contained in that circle, make sure to close the circle down when you are done.

Harmless fun for some, dangerous for others. My parents used to play with one when they were first married and they have some pretty scary stories about it. If you are at all sensitive to spirits, past events, other people's feelings, etc. you could get more than you bargained for by playing with one. Ouija boards are like a cigarette lighter. Harmless, until used by a child to burn down the house.

They scare the willies out of me.
My family did one once and the spirit of my dead uncle talked to my dad and auntie. He had died as a baby though, which was wierd. But he described my nan in great detail and said that they were together and happy.
I think that they are dangerous things though, if you dont know what you are doing, they are like a doorway and not all spirits are benign.

I have used one before. My sister could do it on her own. The thing is I'm not sure what was going on I know for a fact that no one was pushing the glass, I could feel the pull on it. I did see strange things in the basement where we used it. Red lights and I thought I heard my grandfather calling for help. I won't sleep in the basement anymore. Not a good thing.
