Jesus and His disciples were Jewish, and the Last Supper was the last Passover Sedar, or dinner, to commemorate the Exodus.
The bread and the wine symbolize different things in the Old Testament and are part of the old covenant or heart promise.
When Jesus ate this meal with His friends, He gave these symbols new meaning for a new covenant promise, symbolizing His body and blood that were to be given as a sacrifice for their sins and the sins of generations to come.

You seem like an intelligent person. You have asked at least 55 questions. Do you really not know the answer to this question?

Study the Bible... and learn... the answer to this question is found at the Last Supper before Jesus gave His life so that you can have a future with Him for all eternity. What friend would give his life for a friend? Some perhaps... but how many would die for an enemy? Jesus did... we were all once enemies of God... and now... we can choose to be forgiven... and be a friend.

The elements, bread and wine (juice), represent the body and blood of our LORD, Jesus Christ. We take Holy Communion as He commanded, to remember Him, until He comes again.
