Scientists say the temperature of Earth's surface has risen 1 degree over the past 400 years. Caused by man made pollutants resulting in things like, Al Niño that caused disastrous effects on the fishing industry in California; more powerful hurricanes like Katrina that destroyed an entire city; fierce, uncontrollable wild fires that are destroying our forests as seen in the San Berdino area; the destruction of the ozone layer allowing dangerous radiation to enter through our atmosphere.
Scientist are justifiably alarmed. Yet our politicians say that increasing guidelines on pollution would cost the American people millions of jobs.
This is my concern; If global warming is caused by the release of pollutiants like carbon dioxide, florons, etc. What are the results of cities and forests being destroyed or the industrialization of cChina? Do they not release an unprecedent amouunt of toxins? If one degree has caused this.. Is it not concievable that it will quickly escalate?

The recent National Science report makes it clear that global warming is real, and humans contribute to it.

The answer to your question is to vigorously enourage people running for election to support adoption of the Kyoto Accords.

You may have to work for Democrats to do this - it won't happen otherwise.

Yes it can. Most scientists do support global warming as a theory, even ones employed by the federal government, some of whom have faced oppression over this is (especially the ones at NASA). I do know that I am seeing way more birds, fireflies, and have had longer growing seasons with more humidity. But even one really major volcanic eruption can cool things down a bit. Remember to that there are two factors warming the Earth 1) man induced warming and 2) natural cycle of the sun/earth wobbles and orbits. Even if the man made stuff was stopped right now and forever, the Earth would probably still warm to a degree.

I believe that it will. People do not realize what how do I put it the economy is doing to this planet. huge cities, the population is growing so big so quickly that small towns are growing in to big cities. and plants(not the living type) are becoming bigger and destroying the air . And the growing cities are destroying mother earth. That is another reason I believe, Why the world is having catastrophic weather. Because mother nature is furious with what we are doing to her and her children. And nobody with the power to do something is listening to her cries and doing something about it.

There is no way to be absolutely sure whether what we are seeing is "real" global warming or just an anomaly.

So what is the difference between a sensible Republican and an environmentalist wacko Democrat?

The Democrat actually cares more about his or her grandchildren and great-grandchildren than making a profit. Go figure.

after watching Inconvenient Truth and visiting http://www.climatecrisis.net, you realize, the problem is MAINLY AMERICA, not China, almost by a whopping factor of 2-3x.

The problem will quickly escalate. The Alaskan Permafrost contains one of the largest methane deposits too. Once that melts, the CO2 will rise incredibly.
